  Pleasant Stay

  Owners easy to talk to and very pleasant. All amenities were offered without having to ask. A very easy place to stay. Traffic noice was fine. Rooms very clean, perhaps a little small but not annoyingly so. Id stay here again. Very good value for money.

  Not the best in the region

  The room was average, small and with two small windows. Breakfast was delivered for you to cook. Next day the coffee wasnt replenished. The owner was pleasant but just that. I will be looking for my usual stay and advising that this place doesnt make the grade.

  Convenient base for work trip

  Well presented with comfortable king size bed, wifi, good central heating, air conditioning, toiletries etc. No meal option and a short distance to CBD for options there. On site open car park. Pleasant hosts.

  Noisy

  It seems that even on a Monday night Gisborne is the place to party, drag furniture around the cement floors and teach dogs to bark. And thats all within the Bella Vista. The rooms are small with VERY limited Sky channels (basically sport1 and some cheap ones) and even fewer normal TV channels. On the up side; the reception lady was very pleasant, the bed comfortable, long cation good and its always nice to be handed fresh milk for the room. Would I stay again? For the cost, no; I would add the extra few $ and stay in a hotel that had more to offer and less in the way of noise.

  Motel Room

  Disappointed as advice is to book directly and will price match with booking.com. Was advised on phone would not price match and to receive the cheaper price would need to book via booking.com. On arrival was advised as since I rung directly unable to price match and should have booked via Bella Vista website. In the room the book advising facilities had a bit about booking directly and they will price match, clearly this is not correct as turned down twice. The room was over priced at 135.00 per night when compared to motels in Napier and Taupo for same trip. Example Taupo large room with full kitchen facilities and spa bath, cooked buffet breakfast for two 139.00 per night (same as pre covid). Room just big enough for the double bed and only one side table. Microwave and some dishes, cups ect provided however these needed to be washed in the bathroom sink being the same space as the toilet. Not hygienic especially with the current climate and emphasis on hygiene. Would be better motel does the dishes or not provide dishes and microwave cooking facilities.
