Overrated 4*S hotelExcellent restaurant, excellent waiters, all very efficient and very kind. This is the strongest point of this 4*S hotel otherwise, in my opinion, overrated. Mediocre all the rest, except, as I said, restaurant. Location is outside the beautiful village of San Vigilio di Marebbe ... The Spa and the swimming pool are totally unattended, therefore people are left free to go wild, in terms of noise, misbehaviour, usage of mobile phones (in theory restricted) , non compliance to the sauna dress code which says "nude area" (as it is customary in South Tyrol, Switzerland, Germany, etc.), so some people are undressed and others are not, and one does not really know what to do ... an embarassing situation ... A place for silence and relax -such as Spas should be- becomes a place for noise and chit chats ... very rarely some staff shows up to collect mountains of towels, anyway no supervision is guaranteed ... the Concierge / Reception is cold, the owners and the managers in one full week never bothered asking us once how was our stay going ... they seem to care and chat only with some customers ... maybe you have to be a "regular" to be considered worth receiving some kind of attention(s) ... staff, which proved efficient at arrival, later proved to be brisk and kind of rude in at least one situation ... Afternoon snack is extremely frugal both in terms of food and of drinks ... Apart from Restaurant, I guess there are better hotels to stay in San Vigilio than this 4*S hotel (it is difficult to tell where the "S" came from) ...

Exceptional relaxation and superb gastronomic offer!Bella Vista Hotel Emma offers everything you can wish for on a vacation. Starting from the location with soothing environment, thorough great kindness of the receptionists, restaurant and bar staff and up to the wellness content and fine dining concept - all wrapped up in elegance. When talking about their alpine cuisine meals, we enjoyed the variety - each day you can try local food. Dinner meals were exceptionally good - really inovative approach, together with the excellent quality of preparation. In short - delicious warm appetizers, creative main course meals (we were thrilled with the meat preparation) and delightful desserts. Breakfast was magnificent - we really enjoyed the fresh juices, fresh fruit and warm pastry, as well as omelettes. Other thing that impressed us was cleanness. Room and bathroom felt like home and spa area with the calming view to mountains and pine forest was also very clean. It was a pleasure to relax there and to have the possibility to rest on water beds or even go outside and enjoy in the sun and fresh air. We'll definitely go back!

Back home, such a good feelingAfter a couple of years' absence, we drove back to the wonderful San Vigilio and restepped into Hotel Emma, as we left the day before. Martina, the owner is a splendid landlady, and will make everything to make your stay just amazing. she is the deus ex machina of the whole structure, helped by a great staff, Sarah at the reception helpful and efficient (smile more you will be even better) Cristina, Antonio and Chiara in the dining rooms are simply fantastic, some of the best I met during those years. The hotel enjoys a pristine location, and the views from the terrace are simply unforgettable anytime during the day, even when the sunset starts you can feel a shiver that is just expression of the pure beauty of this magic place. Walter, the trekking guide is just getting younger year by year and will make sure that the guests will receive the best support during the daily excursions he organizes, enabling everyone to discover the endless beauty of these mountains. Rooms are divided between new and historical building, we opted for the moe contemporary alpine lounge feeling of the new ones. Just added ( or first time we saw) a spectacular new dining room with out of this world view and impeccable design solution, and the new relax lounge in the sauna world a place to forget everything. I love this place, we all love it, why I did not award the five stars has to do with the cooking, the new installed chef is good but I had better memories with the former ones, both in terms of quality, selection and portions. Please do not take me wrong, everything is fine, but the level is not adequate to the rest. Hotel Emma, heaven on earth, thanks to exist.

Lovely hotel - excellent serviceWe were in this hotel for one week with the family. The hotel is very nice and the service is extremely good. The lady who owns and manages the hotel is very nice, very professional and very kind. The service in the restaurant is very good: the staff is friendly. The hotel is family friendly. Also, during the summer, thehotel organises trips with an expert and friendly guide. Excellent hotel. We will come back!

Summer hollydaysWe were there, my wife and I for one week for the firs time in South Tyrol. We spent very good time. Nearly everything is perfect. The hotel by itself is very nice, very clean and confortable with all facilities for customers. The staff is very nice and friendly, able to understand my bad German or English, and very professional. Trip in the mountains organised with a guide to not go where everyone go = FABULOUS experience. Breakfast and dinner are very good with a very large choice of what you would like to eat. A VERY GOOD TIME, we will come back.
