  Very comfortable but not much for web-working

  I've been in this Hotel for the duration of Lucca Comics & Games 2015. It was the perfect location for waking up (the view is spectacular) and calling it a night (the bed has been the most comfortable I slept in in a very long time and the room was very clean!). The staff was kind and nice. Breakfast is the only meal I had - very good, but for a tea-lover like me there was one major falut: no pots! Unfortunately the free WiFi was not working at all. So I could not make my reports (I was there for working reasons). And this is the only reason I will not go back there.

  Lovely family hotel in great location

  Unfortunately we didn't have a room with balcony and didn't know there was a sun terrace but our stay was very comfortable. Family Stayed for 3 nights. Room was big with lots of storage. Staff were friendly. Once I worked out how to use A/C we had a comfortable sleep. Bed was great. Fridge in the room so you can take little bottles with you. We didn't have any problems using the Wi-Fi at Bella Riviera but we have stayed in lots of hotels on this trip to Italy and Wi-Fi can be a problem. We were advised to go to Martinelli Hotel across the road in order to use their beach facilities. 10-15 Euros per day, depending on who serves you - and here you can use their bar, toilets and sun loungers. Bella Riviera is in a Great location - right across the road from beach. There's also a big park about two blocks north and runs one street behind the main road. Lots for kids under 10- bike rent, trampolines, fair rides etc. Some Bars/cafes - be sure to use the toilet in the restaurant you eat though - as there were no public toilets that we could find. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but breakfast was bread, croissants, pastries, yogurt, rolls, cheese and ham with some soft cheeses and jams. Be sure to get there earlier rather than later though as there wasn't much to choose from after 9am and the staff start to get the dining room ready for lunch. Friendly feel and obviously family run with lots of return visitors.

  Not worth the stars

  We booked two rooms at this hotel. The rooms looked like from the sixties and were not renovated since then. At one room the garbage were still there after the guests before us. The beds were uncomfortable, the breakfast was very poor. Nobody at the hotel could speak a word of english. Sorry but we were very disappointed with our stay. The one positive thing was it's location!

  Perfect

  We stayed for 4 nights, very basic rooms but clean and the best service! 2 adults and 3 kids for 100 per night inc breakfast. The people make this place special! Location just off piazza Mazzini on the main passagio!

  Very poor breakfast and small room

  The room was very small. For 1-2 nights with a small suitcase is ok but more it would have been very uncomfortable. Anyway it was clean. Breakfast very poor. The bread was hard and not that good. For a person that doesn't like sweet breakfast (or can't eat sweets) it is really bad amd with no choises. Only few slices of cheese and ham. The first day we found boiled eggs. Second day we asked the girl in the breakfast room: "today there are no boiled eggs?", "no" and she went away. Disappointing and impolite. The croissants were ok but they were slow to bring more: we arrived to have breakfast, my husband took the last one and for 15-20 min no croissants... "they are coming"...and we had to wait. The location is very nice. In the average we are not really happy. If I will go back to Viareggio I will for sure book somewhere else.
