Excellent Stay - Thank you Belambra! This hotel is nothing short of superb! We stayed as a couple, but the hotel really suits all - friends, families, old and young. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and tidy, no tattiness anywhere and everything in good working order. Staff were very friendly and always quick to respond to any request. Rooms - We booked with Iglu Ski (Who are run by Inghams) and stayed in a double room with a view of the slopes. The room was a very good size and the housekeeping was completed every day to a very high standard - Thank you to the wonderful housekeeping team at Belambra who, despite the number of rooms the hotel has (a lot!), prepared our room to a high standard each day before we returned from the slopes. The only little quirk which some may find a little strange is that the bathroom only had a handheld shower over a bath, so you have to either have a bath or hand-held wash over the bath rather than a proper stand-up shower. This didn't really bother us (although we had thought it would!) as it was rather nice to have a soak at the end of each day on the slopes! If a bath is really not your thing - we did find proper stand-up showers just off the reception area by the entrance to the spa/toilets. Hairdryer in rooms girls - saves on the luggage space - wahoo! Food & restaurants - The main buffet restaurant is amazing. For the reasonable price that this hotel was, we were expecting a pretty bog standard holiday buffet but this wasn't the case! Belambra absolutely spoil you for choice with variety. They have baby food, food for even the fussiest of kids, and the salad bar is excellent! There are always an array of deserts and fresh fruit available too. Such good quality food for such a big hotel and buffet style. We were very impressed! White, Red and Rosé wine is free flowing at meal times which is a really nice touch! You help yourself to it on tap! At breakfast there is fruit juice, tea and coffee and water available but at lunch and dinner, only water available free of charge (any other drinks are from the bar). For half-board stayers (which we were), when you arrive you are told that you have 7 meal tickets per person which you can use for any lunch or dinners in your stay, and you are given a wristband for breakfasts which were all included in our package. You are allowed to book one reservation at the Raclette/Fondue restaurant within the hotel one evening, and one reservation at the burger restaurant within the hotel on another and meal tickets can be used for both of these. They are FANTASTIC and not to be missed!! Location - The ski rental centre is attached to the hotel and although we arrived early to collect our skis on the first morning (it's a small - but fantastic!! - ski shop for such a big hotel), there never seemed to be too long a queue there. The Ski Set staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! The hotel is right on the slopes! It's pretty much ski-in ski-out, and right in front of you you have a choice of 4 main lifts to take you up the mountain. Ski schools and kids learner slopes are also right there too. Aprés ski is very close, you can either ski to La Folie Douce (which is right close to the hotel) or take the short Villards lift up there and access it by foot a very short distance from the top of the lift. Folie goes on until 7pm and the Villards lifts stays open to take you back down until 7:30pm... But we chose to ski back down to Du Golf, which is always fun after a couple (or more)! You can ski right back to the ski locker room door :-) Other bits - We didn't use the spa in the hotel. We had planned to and it did sound very good for the price (compared to another spa along the way which was very expensive!!). We ran out of time for this as we enjoyed Aprés ski most days instead. Of note - there isn't a gym in the hotel for any gym goers, but if you need to go to the gym whilst on a ski holiday, are you really skiing hard enough!? :D There is a gym available in the local leisure centre a few minutes walk by foot from the hotel which is apparently 10 euros a time (expensive, no!?). The bar area is lovely and spacious with an open log fire in the middle. We didn't really see much of the evening entertainment to comment but did hear a live band and live jazz band (with grand piano) which both sounded great on our way to dinner! The Town - In terms of the town at 1800, there is everything you need. You could buy a whole ski outfit and more, if you really needed to. There's a SPAR shop with everything you'd expect in there and good for a pre-airport transfer stock-up. There's lots of nice little cheese shops, bakeries, and cafes for a crepe or a coffee in town. And apparently BKM/Barking Mad does a mean burger (we didn't get a chance to try - but had been told by other guests). Lots of little restaurants along the bottom of the slopes which are good for lunch and a good selection of actually not too badly priced restaurants up in the mountains for lunch stops. We felt spoilt for choice with food this holiday! Don't miss the night ski! It's on every evening (until 7pm - I believe!?) :-) Good fun! I could go on all day about this hotel as it was just fantastic! We'll be back to stay again as will several other first-timers we met there as nobody had a bad word to say! THANK YOU BELAMBRA! MERCÍ BEAUCOUP!

A good value Hotel in a great location. This is a good value, family orientated, hotel in a great location in Arcs 1800. The staff throughout the Hotel were all extremely good natured with a smile and genuinely looked as if they were enjoying their work. In my opinion the reviews posted previously generally give a fair assessment of this hotel. The buffet provided at breakfast and dinner was adequate but the quality of the dishes did vary at times. At peak times the restaurant was under pressure for seating and certain things would run out. We ate one meal at the Zinc hamburger restaurant which rather lacked atmosphere and tried the raclette in the Mont Blanc speciality restaurant that we enjoyed. When dining at the Mont Blanc you can also choose dishes from the buffet next door. Both these options are included but need booking the day before. Our room had good views out over the slopes and was adequately sized for 2 people, but would be a tight squeeze for 3 adults. The bathroom is nicely fitted and clean. There is a separate toilet which is rather compact in size. As there is no "proper" shower facility in the room we did make use of the courtesy showers which are situated near the bar toilets. Drink prices are pretty standard for the French Alps; large beer 6 euros, cocktails 8 euros. An all inclusive drinks package is available for 6 days at 105 euros which can also be used at the Zinc sun terrace at lunchtimes, I will leave it to you to look at the bar prices and do the maths. Be aware that some restrictions do apply. One thing that does need some attention is that the music played on the sun terrace in the afternoon included very explicit lyrics, which might be very offensive to some English speaking clients. I did mention this to the staff who immediately turned the music off. One day was a white out and so we took the local free bus to Arc 1600 and took the funicular (ticket included with lift pass) to Bourg St Maurice for a look around. Not too much to see but it helped fill the day. To reach the livelier bars in Arc 1800 is about a 10 minute walk to the right downhill on pedestrian paths. To the left of the hotel is the ski pass office (just pass the Bou Bou bar). In this area there is also a Spar supermarket and a pharmacy. We hired skis and boots from the Skiset shop under the Hotel which can be accessed from the ski locker rooms. We were at the shop at opening time on our first day and a queue was already in place. The transfer to/from Geneva airport took over three and a half hours due to traffic jams. Geneva airport is disorganised and there are long separate queues for checking in luggage, security and passport control. I recommend getting through all these processes as soon as you can to avoid being late for your flight. Finally would we use this Hotel again? Yes we would without hesitation.

Great location - good valueI stayed at this hotel for a group ski trip. Rooms are standard size for European hotels, which is small if you're used to North American hotels, however they are clean, functional, and every room has a view of the valley below, or a better view of the mountains, depending on the floor you're on. It's a quirky place to walk around as the hotel is built on the mountain side and the hallways are sloped. Of note: Wi-Fi is not free at the hotel, but is free on the mountain. Cell reception is good so you may want to consider getting a SIM card depending on your connectivity needs. Our stay was a half-pension, meaning breakfast and dinner were included. In both cases these are buffets with a good variety of options. The only disappointment was the wine which was just "OK" for many in our group. They do offer red, white and rosé wine on tap, and you can pay extra for your wine form their menu. Take a look at CarriesTravel20 review for more details. We had lunch everyday at one of the many restaurants on the slopes of Les Arcs or La Plagne. Great food, friendly service and awesome views made everyday enjoyable.

Great SkiingHotel large but everything better than expected. Staff friendly and helpful. Buffet meals really excellent and as much wine as you want. Corridors to bedrooms rather gloomy but rooms have superb views and always plenty of hot water for your bath. Beds very comfortable. Quiet. Right on the slops and ski hire shop in basement in hotel. Also many French staying there which is always a good sign! Have to pay for wi-fi.
