  Lovely hotel, manager spoiled it

  We were told on the first day that the breakfast we ordered would be delivered in brown paper carrier bag with plastic cutlery and expected to eat from silver foil. On the second day I felt unwell as I am a cancer patient so asked to have toast, however I was told that I had to have the same breakfast as my first day order for the entire week. I felt upset. We only received a breakfast menu on the third day after complaining. The menu for the evening meal was limited and the same all week but was served on a plate. However, having ordered baked potato it arrived raw but was told it could not be sent back for further cooking and would not be replaced so I ended up eating very little. The room was good and the hotel surroundings were nice. The menu and management were disappointing so I would not return to this hotel.

  Exceptional approach to COVID-19.

  I feel obliged to inform that this hotel and staff have a great approach to the current pandemic. The general approach and polite reminders help to enforce and maintain the difficult rules in this challenging climate. The delivered to your room breakfast was a great compromise to the usual format of my morning meal. The food and service were good. However, if you were staying more than one week you may get tired of the same menu. That being said, its possible that specials may be available in normal times. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, and thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

  Cancelled wedding.

  Disgusted, my Mum had her wedding booked here for last year and unfortunately had to reschedule. She moved it to July 2021 but with current situation decided to cancel until she can have the wedding she really wanted. Having already paid deposits for the rooms and to confirm the date she was told she would have to pay even more money to cancel the date. I'm appalled, having said she understood she wouldn't get those deposits back, having to then pay more money for a wedding she hadn't finalised is disgusting. Even if my mum had kept the date this year they cannot provide the wedding she originally wanted nor can they assure her it would even go ahead. She was then told if she wanted to keep her booking but move it to next year there would be a charge for that aswell! In the middle of a pandemic taking money for something you can't provide is ridiculous. I work in hospitality and understand how hard this last year has been but I don't understand this lack of basic customer service.

  I cant even begin to state my disappointment and disgust at was my wedding venue. Making a profit out of this God awful Pandemic? Well done Will and team....You have ruined our day completely. So bitterly disappointed

  Nice hotel out in the country

  Thankfully open to key workers during these times and providing a good service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with good showers. Tea & coffee is available. Plenty of parking in the large grounds. A beautiful area for hiking and sailing. On the night of my stay there was no heating in the room, so it was extra bedding or sleeping in clothes which unfortunately was not at hand or suitable.... . The coldest stay in any hotel in my life and i was disappointed with the reaction of the manager when i mentioned it. Otherwise my review would have earned a very good rating.
