    Steer clear of this hotel

    This review is totally honest. Me and my partner stayed at this hotel. When you get to the deralicked road that the hotel is at the bottom of you will be greeted by smashed up buildings and windows, one small convience store and two small restaurants which are awful. The area of this hotel is the worst, it has absolutely nothing around it, the hotel beach is completely stones so not very nice to swim in or even walk on. If you walk further down the beaches do get sandy and are better. Even if you walk for a while around the area of the hotel you will find nothing, absolutely nothing. There is a bus stop where you can catch the bus to Rethymno which I must say is lovely. If you want to stay in this part of Crete then make sure you stay more in the centre of Rethymno, as this hotel is around 30/40 minutes ride from the town. The food at the hotel is well quite frankly unedible. They dont have a variety of food at all. The bread is left out to go dry and rock solid, they dont even have any butter for the bread. Cereals taste like theyre out of date. The meat doesnt look or taste like normal meat in fact I thought they mightve cooked the local dog. Im not a fussy eater and my partner definitely isnt either but even we couldnt bare to eat the food they served. The only thing that was okay was the fresh fruit and salad, everything else was terrible. I wouldnt touch the food there, for an all inclusive hotel it is atrocious. The food didnt change much from breakfast, lunch and dinner, they served the same old slop day in, day out nothing looked appetising at all. Then the pool bar which you would think you were allowed in when youve been in the pool you cant. You must ensure you are completely dry from head to toe as my partner walked in the pool bar with his swimming trunks on which were not wet as he had dried off before going in the bar. He was told to get out because he is soaking wet and the cleaner had just cleaned the floor. He was a very rude man his exact words were what the hell are you doing? You are wet. Get out of here now then repeatedly said words in his language which we couldnt understand. He then became very aggressive. The hotel is VERY basic rooms are not very clean and it is nothing special whatsoever. Also when you want to check out ensure that if you need a late check out room then you ask before hand and maybe even ask for it in writing. We paid extra for a late check out at 1600. At 1200 a cleaner whos English wasnt too good told us that we need to get out of the room which at this point I was getting changed. Two minutes later 3 cleaners barge in our room with me getting changed and my partner in the shower and started to clean the room for the next people coming in. We hadnt even packed any of our things or even got ourselves ready to leave as we thought we had the room until 1600 which was what we paid for on check in. The cleaners began to move our suitcases and even moved our things so they could clean. I told them we had paid for extra time and they completely ignored me. The fact I was getting changed and my partner was in the shower and they still walked in and thought they had the right to clean the room was appalling. I have never in all my life been through something like this. This just topped our stay at this awful hotel off! We asked them to leave while we sort our things out and they refused. When we basically got thrown out of our room we went to the reception where we were told there was no late check out, so I really dont understand why we paid extra money on check in for something that apparently doesnt even exist at this hotel. The hotel is predominantly full of German guests and some other nationalities. No English at all, me and my partner were the only 2 English people in the hotel until the last couple of days when a father and his son came and he immediately started talking to us about how terrible the hotel is and that he was asking to be moved. The guests at the hotel were not the friendliest either and every member of staff wasnt helpful in anyway and always came across rude even when you are being very polite. Overall I would never stay at this hotel ever again even if I was offered £1,000,000. It is an absolute shambles of a hotel. Awful location, unedible food (you dont even know what youre eating as there are no signs to say what the food is), terrible customer service and staff. Do not stay here unless you want the hotel stay from hell. This review is totally honest and I even complained to the hotel formally but never had any response. If you do book this hotel after reading the HONEST reviews on here then good luck youre going to be in for a very eventful and terrible holiday.

    Four girls

    Staying in this hotel was a great time for us. is located in a quiet localization and has a beautiful view of the sea. We loved this! Rooms clean and adequate size, we had a room with a view of the sea which was an additional advantage. Also the service was very nice and helpful. We definitely recommend this hotel, for every reason.

    The best holiday

    Hotel Begeti Bay it's a great atmospheric place. Where The climate is createt there by the hotel bosses and the whole team. That's why I will definitely go back. From the hotel there is a beautiful view of the sea The rooms is a big and nice. Food very delicious and everyday different. I definitely recommend this hotel.
