Mountain view weddingWe attended a wedding at Beaverfoot Lodge. The setting was beautiful. Mountains views and creeks running through the meadow. The facilities were terrible. The lodge had no screens on the windows. The kitchen was overrun with mice. Herds of mice running down the hall at night. The price they charged guests was ridiculous. Would not recommend staying here.

Horrible lodging!!! GLORIFIED HOSTELMy family and I try to check out quite few lodges and hotels every summer, this is the worst lodge I ever seen/been to and quite shocked of other reviews saying that place is good etc. You would have to be blind or young/careless person to find that place good, The place was such a waste of money and we regret wasting our time staying with with so many other decent places in/around Golden. Interesting enough this is second review I'm posting about the lodge experience, first one seemed to "disappear". As someone previously mentioned its nothing but dirty, glorified hostel in the woods, or more like middle of nowhere. First off.. prepare to drive A LOT!! they do not indicate anywhere how long the drive on that gravel road is to get to them!! 40 mins!!!! With 2 hungry toddlers getting into town thinking its just down the road (that's what they told me on phone), check in and drive back to town another 40 mins for dinner because their promised "dinner" was salad and bread and once everyone grab it, none left, looks like you're out of luck. No food that you can buy, no restaurant, no vending machines..nothing...We all went to bed starving because kitchen had nothing supposedly till morning. Good thing I brought fruit and crackers. Room we got was horrific! NO LOCKS ON ANY DOORS! NO SAFE! No privacy at all! Cant leave anything in room at any time as any rooms do not have locks on them. We mentioned that we needed a room to put play pen in for little one. Room we got was too small to fit even suitcase. Window and screen broken, mosquitos feast on us all night. Hostel was full of young kids, teenagers and questionable looking characters wondering the halls.Room with no lock, wasn't exactly a peaceful sleep. Noise all night long kids partying, blasting music. Not exactly a mountain, nature-ish getaway we were expecting for 400$. One public washroom for whole floor of rooms, disgusting dirty, no toilet paper, broken mirror, no light/burnt out inside washroom makes impossible to go washroom at night if needed. Skinny, ice cold stream of water from tap. No showers or anything. We couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning!! When leaving expressed concerns to front desk, they were very rude and inconsiderate. Very protective over fact that those partying teenagers are owners/management's kids. Horses on property is the ONLY nice thing about that place. Very disgusted by overall look, feel and safety of that place. Not to mention how do they get away charging so much for that!! Wouldn't recommend to worst enemy!!

Best night of our tripWe booked a wagon a few nights in advance to our arrival. When we got to the lodge we were greeted by Clint, the manager. He was spending evening by the fire with his staff. He explained that he had closed the wagons for winter the week before and instead offered us a room in the lodge. We had a great night by the campfire with these fellas and one other couple staying in the lodge. The hospitality could not have been better!!!

So disappointingI went for a wedding in July 2017, and this place is in bad condition. This could be a great venue because of the beautiful scenery around it, but the accommodations and service are terrible. Some guests stayed in the lodge and complained of the upstairs shower leaking into the rooms below. I stayed in the camping area, where the grass was up to my waist, and there was horse poop everywhere. The covered wagons are infested with mice, and some were even missing their canvas tops. This property has a ton of potential, but whoever owns it has run it into the ground.
