  Lovely stay before lockdown

  My friend and I stayed 2 nights before lockdown Staff were very friendly and helpful Bar area is lovely if a little understaffed but understand in current times , reception staff always available to get us drinks Booked swimming easily do think the pool could have been deeper for a proper swim but was still nice first thing in the morning Hotel in lovely location so couldnt fault it Room was clean as was bedding The Royal Oak 10 minutes up the rd was lovely for food Drift inn food was ok and had friendly staff So overall I would return as was very pleasant

  Disappointing

  Firstly I would like to say I have never left a negative review before. My husband and I are easily pleased and have never felt this disappointed with anywhere weve stayed before. We chose this hotel as it looked beautiful, was close to Peppa Pig World and they had a swimming pool which we had planned to use during our stay. We arrived for one night during October half term with our 2 children. On the day of our arrival we phoned at 8am to book the swimming pool which is what we were advised to do when we made the hotel reservation (you couldnt pre book you had to phone on your arrival day) We were told that the pool was fully booked all day. This was very disappointing seeing as we booked this hotel because they had a pool. The staff were very unhelpful. We booked our evening meal at the Drift Inn which attaches to the Hotel. Again very disappointed. Our table was booked for 5.30pm. Only us and one other family in there so they couldnt use the rushed off their feet card. I ordered pie of the day, the mash potato was stone cold. My husband had belly pork which was served with a tomato and butter bean sauce type of thing. It tasted like a tin of cold chopped tomatoes. Like I said this isnt like me to leave a negative review but I just felt like I had to because we were so disappointed.

  Stayed with family post lockdown

  Staff very friendly, fantastic location and surrounding view. I didn't realise how close it is to Beaulieu Road. Restaurant was nice and few vegetarian options for us. It was nice and cosy and not too busy. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The four poster bed was comfortable with separate sofa bed for our 9 years old.

  Pleasingly surprising

  Lovely and clean. V comfy and up to date. Helpful hotel staff. All rooms would benefit from the coffee machine. Pool a bit chilly. 30 degrees would be nice. Missing a hot tub. All food in pub nextdoor. Good food. Variable staff service. Good kids okay area available.

  Outstanding holiday

  I would just like to say a massive thank you to Dom, Paige and Amit. They truly made our stay memorable and perfect. If you are looking for a beautiful property look no further they have the view and the food well unbelievable.
