  hermoso hotel,personal muy profecional y amable.el diector y el vice diretor siempre atentos, habitacion comoda nos toco una habitacion con vista la lago fantastico!!,el restaurante y la zona wellnes optimo .para relajarse es perfecto.

  Gran experiencia y una delicia de comida

  Festejamos el día de la madre en un lugar maravilloso a la orilla del lago. Fue muy bonito primero hubo un concierto y luego la comida excelente el servicio, bonito el lugar y muy sabrosa la comida Hay un menu deliciosa son 4 platos y una barra de postres

  Marvellous

  The accommodation was simple but tidy, the view breathtaking! In the restaurant, we had the package breakfast and dinner. Very good choices at the breakfast buffet. Dinner was superb! We also had a quick visit to the bar during cake time, with the company of a great pianist playing for us. Sauna pool and kiosk areas were clean and extremely pleasant. Last but not least all the staff was kind and helpful. We came with our 4 month puppy and they arranged dog treats, toys and a towel for her. At the Reception the offered us a drink when we arrived, the housekeeper was very friendly and attentive. In the restaurant, the chef de service was Richard Béres, he transformed our dinners into an outstanding experience. Thank you to all the staff!

  A lovely return ...in many ways.

  We visited the Beatus Merligen upon its re-opening after the Corona lockdown. Between my wife and I we have stayed here many times both together and apart, and we were both looking forward to the beautiful location on Lake Thun, the lovely spa, delicious food, and great hospitality, but we also wished to support the hotel and its people as they re-opened in these difficult times. From the initial on-line investigations to our arrival and throughout our stay the hotel communication emphasised the new actions and guidelines in place to keep visitors safe and healthy. Arriving at the hotel there are a number of safety precautions taken at reception, everything you would expect (sanitiser, plastic shields, facemasks and gloves for staff), and all guidelines were explained as part of the check-in. Outside of this (and facemasks for all staff) the only significant changes we noticed were the on-line menus at the bar and restaurant (use your own smartphone worked easily) and the breakfast buffet being changed to a buffet with server mode. Over our three days there the food was excellent, the cocktails were inspired (barrel aged Negroni!), and everything in the room was clean and perfect (and the view out across the lake is spectacular as always!!!). The Beatus is a lovely older hotel with some modern touches. Located directly on the lakefront with a wonderful garden and hotel-park it was a true haven for our (post-lockdown-ed) psyches. The fact that the weather was warm and sunny, and we could even take a (very) bracing swim in the lake after a hot sauna was a very large bonus. Throughout our stay we did notice some staff struggling a bit with facemasks, extra cleaning, and many small changes to their usual routines, and we do hope for them that current regulations will continue to relax (if and when appropriate). However, - without exception - everyone that we had contact with was gracious and hospitable, and all seemed happy to be back to work. Compared to previous stays (which were also lovely), this current trip was special due to the circumstances. The hotel direction and staff are clearly putting in the extra effort, and it shows. Additionally, the hotel (and more importantly the spa) was closed to external visitors (only for hotel guests at this time), so despite being fully booked the facilities never felt crowded, raising the level of relaxation and the feeling of luxury even higher.

  A fabulous hotel in an equally fabulous location

  Thanks to Canswiss and his review we stayed at the Beatus for 4 nights in August. The hotel surpassed our expectations in every possible way. Our room (Junior Suite on the top floor) was modern with a fantastic shower (wish I could have brought it home!), well laid out, very quiet and had wonderful views across the lake to the Niesen and other mountains. We didn't have the best of weather while there but just watching the clouds coming over the lake was so relaxing. The hotel is right ON the lakefront with no road or path between it and the lake and the panoramic views are wonderful. The gardens are just breathtaking. Beautiful flowers and old trees all meticulously kept up - we saw two young women "deadheading" what seemed like thousands of plants which must be a really daunting task. It was a pleasure to walk around the gardens and just enjoy the flowers. We took the "3/4 Board" plan which included a full breakfast, a soup and salad lunch, little cakes at tea time and a 5 course dinner. All the meals were good although we never managed to eat all 5 courses at dinner. The service was more than excellent in all areas - thoughtful waiters (especially Til who is, apparently, a trainee), top-notch housekeeping and reception and spa staff who helped us plan our days and answered all our questions. In fact we were impressed with the entire staff, from the GM Sebastian Moser on down. A special vote of thanks goes to Sybille who runs the Reception for her help and kindness in getting our stay rescheduled at the last minute when my husband suddenly became ill. She could not have been kinder or more understanding. The spa is large, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. It is just a pleasure to visit. I had several spa treatments which were very professionally done. (Probably best to book those ahead because the spa is very popular). We loved the outdoor, salt water, 35° pool and its jets and "speed ring". We have stayed in hotels all over Switzerland in the last 50-something years and the Beatus tops them all. We are already booked for a stay this winter and hope to be back next summer for a week.
