  Dissapointed Hotel Stay

  We went expecting a great stay. We have friends that love this place. The room was dated, the bed was too firm, and felt rickety. The water didn't get hot enough and ran to cool while attempting to take a bath. There were also to windows in the bathroom that filled the room with light, and made sleeping hard. Just didn't enjoy the stay in this particular room.

  Just not worth the price.

  The pros: great location with a very brief walk to the beach, balcony with an angled water view of the ocean, full kitchen with major appliances stocked with pots/pans/bowls/knives/dishes & cutlery, excellent wifi, good working A/C The cons: waaaay overpriced ($250/day) for what you get! Very outdated and in dire need of renovations, very dated/rusting kitchen & bathroom faucets, bathroom needs recaulking of moldy shower/tub grout, the toilet had brown (yuck!) and rust stains, the couches were quite stained (yuck again!), the tile flooring was old and grimy with caked on brown grout, some of the bath towels had holes in them similar to car rags, outdoor trash dumpster was overflowing with very foul smelling trash attracting numerous flies too close to units (property management should arrange for more frequent bulk trash pick-up), paper thin walls to where you can hear the details of the conversations of other guests staying in adjacent rooms...enough said.

  A real flop house

  NO hot water,,,for one! If you were staying in this room anywhere else..it might go for $42. Oh, and don't bring your dog..there are stickers everywhere! They gorged me for $243...for one night. That should have been the weekly rate! Ridiculous!

  Bed Sucks!

  Bed is horrible... mattress sinks you to middle!!! We are here now for our 6th night... very noisy room 218.... you can hear word for word the people in next room with crying kid to slamming doors and barking dog!!! Not to mention the sound of elephants walking in room above us....DO NOT GET A FIRST FLOOR ROOM!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before booking a week stay here! The room was extremely clean upon checking in!!! Did not know there was NO MAID SERVICE DURING OUR STAY!!! They exchange towels, give you more trash bags, bath soap, and shampoo, but no cleaning in your room at all!! Small flying bugs in our room not sure what those are from! I wish I would have looked at reviews!!! For the $$$ for a week stay probably could have gotten something nicer in the off season for this amount of money. Front desk clerk and maids are very nice! Sorry but we wont be staying here again!!!! Need to put up a sign as to where the office is for checking in. Everyday during our stay people would ask us where to go to check in!

  A great place/location for the money

  My daughter and I stayed at Beach-gate this past week.. first they let us check in early. called to let us know we could.. because I had not understood the reservation, we got a room that was not what I had wanted.. I talked to Management and asked for another room. Willing to pay for upgrade but they were booked..but then an hour later they called and put us into a one bedroom condo with wraparound porch with view of ocean.. this was sweet.. they had two pools and hot tub.. well maintained, very nice management. The place is a little older and shows some wear and tear but we will stay again..bed was very comfortable and sheets and blankets clean..
