DisappointingAlthough cleanliness is good, and access to the beach front good, the general standard of self-catering equipment is average. As professional landlords ourselves National Landlords Association members, we were left with a strong impression that Apartment 5 has been equipped and maintained at the lowest cost possible to the landlord. Concerns expressed within a few minutes of arrival about a broken kitchen window (ground floor apartment) and thereby, our possessions being at risk of burglary, were not taken seriously and nothing done to rectify the problem. Likewise, a request to provide heating was resisted initially, and although put on that evening (Thursday) it was not put on for Friday or Saturday evening. Inadequate cooking utensils: three saucepans, only one of which had a matching lid, a mish-mash of cutlery (some dirty) chinaware and glassware that might have been gathered together from car-boot sales. Only 2-3 drinking glasses, none of which appeared to have ever formed part of a set and might well have been 'freebies' collected along the way. No chopping board. Furnishings in the lounge are cheap and well used. A disappointing experience overall. We would not recommend this apartment for anyone who wishes to feel secure and can self-cater without difficulty.

a terrible experienceI cannot review the interior of the hotel or the service provided as Carol, the lady who appears to do an incredibly unprofessional job of running the apartments, was no where to be found at our time of arrival. The building was locked up (with some children looking down at us from the top window) and Carol was not answering her phone, or responding to texts or messages. I should have know from the get go that this was a disaster waiting to happen when I struggled to contact Carol after making my booking via Expedia. There were details to be ironed out, and Carol never responded to my emails and was always busy when I called, asking me to call back more than once. On our day of arrival (myself, my husband and 3 children) we had travelled up from Cornwall and I had sent texts updating Carol on our arrival time. Upon arrival, everything was closed and Carol was nowhere to be found. After extensive attempts to contact Carol, we eventually had to give up and head home as there did not appear to be any other options available in a very busy Swanage in August. I had planned this part of our trip months in advance as I was very excited to show my children and husband a part of the country that I have hugely fond memories of. My husband has vowed never to return, and my children were underwhelmed with the whole experience. As yet, 2 months later, I have not had any contact from Carol explaining what happened or apologising for any misunderstanding. My disappointment and frustration with regards this situation is taking a while to pass, and I sincerely hope that no one else has their holiday plans thwarted in the way that my family did.

Location location !My 2 daughters & I spent a lovely couple of nights in a one bedroom apartment at the Beachcomber . Good communication with carol the owner re how to get the keys etc. The apartment was bigger than I was expecting and great value. The bonus for us was the location. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk away and the view from outside is amazing , I would think the apartments at the front have a sea view. The town with restaurants, pubs & amusements is a 20 minute stroll away. We are definately looking forward to staying here again.

I'd visit againWe stayed in apt. 2 for a few nights. It was nicely decorated and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Carol, the host, was helpful and attentive. I think the bathroom lets it down a little. Parking on street nearby was easy enough in early September. If you like cycling I posted a nice circular route to Corfe, then on through Wytch Farm to Studland and back. Its on the OS Maps App called purbeck isle and follows mostly quiet lanes, tracks and bridleways.

A lovely stayMe and my wife stayed here in September. Flat 4 was clean and tidy.A small window at side was an added bonus as it gave us a terrific view of the beach and countryside. Perfect location for everything. I would definitely stay here again
