Wow!!!The customer service exhibited at this place is unlike anything else. Chris, the very kind man at the front desk, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We were there during a very busy 4th of July weekend, and despite being sold out, Chris made us feel like the only ones there. Thank you for your kindness, Chris. 10/10: would recommend for sure.

Comfy and clean, but expected more attention to detailCovid times being what they are, Europe was out of the question, so we opted to stay local in the nicest place I could book. My first impression: although the staff were friendly and professional, I was dismayed to find that they werent wearing masks at reception, nor in their other interactions with the public, even though they requested the guests to! I had been contacted via email prior to check in, to see what time we would be arriving. I emailed back with our ETA and asked a question about the on-site hot tub and whether massages or other spa services were available. I wanted to know if the hot tub was operational and if so, was it being scheduled for usage times amongst the guests like some others places were doing, and was it being sanitized between uses. My email was not returned, so I called, and was told that massages were not available (even though they were at other places in town). The hot tub was closed, which I didnt find out until checking in. I understand why, but it should have been disclosed on the website, or at least comped on the room rate. Also, re the rate, they offered a military discount, but only to active duty. Ive often been disgruntled with policies like this, as why should someone who has only served for a year or two receive a discount, yet someone who served for 20 or more doesnt? Smh. Notwithstanding, the main reason I booked this venue was for the exquisitely appointed jacuzzi/shower shown in the photos on the website. If we couldnt get massages or into the hot tub, at least we could relax in what should have been a shower massage unit that was big enough for two; however it wasnt equipped for that despite the pictures advertised.. Not all of the shower nozzles even worked, and while the tubs jacuzzi jets functioned, the bubbles did not. You couldnt have more than one type of nozzles going at one time, but could only select from the choices singly, and although there was room in the enclosed unit for two, you couldnt have water enough for two at the same time. Alas, there was no romantic shower to be had. Along with that plumbing disappointment, the toilet handle threatened to come off in my hand, as the linkage was not properly maintained. I guess the best thing I can say about the room is that it appeared to be very clean, and towels aplenty were available, and there was a nice large covered and furnished balcony on which to relax. The mattress was the perfect firmness and well equipped with pillows; however the bottom of the mattress/box spring was torn and hanging in several places. I know thats a really minor complaint, but if youre paying $350 a night for a room thats supposed to be well equipped, its very disappointing to see things in need of repair. The room was very nicely decorated and the furnishings a bit worn but clean and very comfortable. One interesting feature was the tray ceiling that was up-lighted with softly colored led rope lights, which added to the romantic ambiance. All in all we had a pleasant stay; I just think for that kind of money, a little more attention detail is warranted. Other notes: the coffee/latte/cappuccino machine in the lobby made REALLY good coffee and there was also a nice selection of teas; those were available 24 hrs. A mini fridge would be nice in the rooms...relatively speaking they are not that expensive, and would be much more convenient that a shared refrigerator in the pantry. Also, the ice machine was inoperable or exceedingly slow...we secured only about 3 ice cubes for the anniversary champagne bottle we brought. Breakfast the first morning was the most exquisite French toast Ive ever had, however, they were out of orange juice. The second morning, there was a first course of baked grapefruit served in a tall champagne glass. Although it tasted pretty good, it was very awkward to eat. As well, we were asked about any diet concerns at checkin, but grapefruit doesnt normally come to mind to object to because we dont often encounter it At the age group they are marketing to, people are often on cholesterol meds, and grapefruit doesnt mix well with that. They had restocked orange juice the second morning, but it was obviously canned....at this upscale market, it doesnt seem like anything but fresh squeezed, or at least not-from-concentrate juice should be considered! That said, the second course was a baked frittata of sausage, zucchini and goat cheese, and it was nothing short of delectable. The chef clearly knows his way around the kitchen, and the dining area was attractive and nicely appointed with linens, and proper spacing was maintained between tables. Id be happy to stay again when the spa is reopened and if they fixed the plumbing.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE QUALITYHard, old mattresses, lumpy and flat pillows. I could hear the mattress creaking from the rise and fall of my breath. UNBEARABLE wait for breakfast. We confirmed for 8:30 AM and ended up waiting 1.5 HOURS for nasty eggs that were not cooked as we asked and were basically tossed in front of us. We had to eat our own snacks while waiting. Chris, the innkeeper, is highly incompetent, rude, unprofessional and potentially racist or at least incredibly biased -- he treated all other white guests with more respect, courtesy and priority than he treated me and my friend (both non-white). He didn't wear a mask when we checked in; but when he dealt with other guests, he diligently wore a mask. He basically tossed our horrible breakfast in front of us without saying a word or allowing us to get a word out, and rushed to serve the other guests. He offered no information on the breakfast menu and we had to guess what we could have; however, for other guests, he happily described everything that was available. When we asked which vegetables were available for the omelette, he said they had all types of vegetables -- our omelette included a few pieces of green pepper and nothing else, even though my friend asked for mushrooms; I asked for bacon, he gave me huge chunks of ham. He said they had juices and muffins, but never brought any for us. The most UNPLEASANT, GROSS experience I've suffered as a paying guest. Would not stay again and do not recommend, especially for the rate.

Big time disappointment!Horrible, horrible...the innkeeper needs a few lessons in running a BB. We stayed 4 nights, two of the four nights did not have coffee cups or spoons at the self serve coffee bar, also was never wiped and machine was out of milk. When we called him, there was no sense of urgency and Sunday morning at 8:00, doors still locked and coffee bar still had no attention, he was no where in site. Floor had paint all over it and the ad said beautiful garden views. Picture below of garden out my window. Very disappointed!!

Horrible.Where do I start? First when we arrive (after the innkeeper called us earlier that morning and asked when we were arriving) our room wasnt ready until 2 hours. Second I called days in advance and requested the birthday package for my husbands birthday- a cake and Prosecco for $65. Normally this would be in the room when you arrive, that wasnt the case. On day 2 the innkeeper supplied me with a cake and just put it in the guest fridge no Prosecco?? It was like a cake from the grocery store with very poor writing and definitely charged me $65 for a $20 cake and no Prosecco? We stayed for 4 nights. Not one time was our room cleaned... at all. (Even though I asked for our room to be cleaned) I had to take my own glasses and trash downstairs... I had to ask for more towels and toiletries. (It says in their welcome book they clean your room everyday between 11am-2pm, that is a lie. When you walk through the place its a mess- blankets and towels all over the floors, the guest pantry is gross and dirty towels all over the floors. When we arrived he asked if we wanted breakfast at 8:30 or 9:30, we chose 8:30 and he said oh you can either come down or Ill bring breakfast up to you. We requested it be brought up. First day we got no breakfast... second day we went down at 8:30 and sat at the table and waited a half hour for some eggs and sausage slop which was gross. We gave up on breakfast after that. The sliding door to the balcony in our room was malfunctioning, and the shower was rusted and spraying in crazy directions. There was also no hairdryer? Which I thought was odd. All in all we would not recommend and we would never stay here again. It was a terrible experience.
