  Leaving early.

  Where do I start. I called to book after looking at their website and looking at the amenities in each room, booked a one bedroom apartment. Website states it comes with a queen size bed, a full size fridge and a view. Well my queen size bed was two singles and they argued with me and told me thats what I specifically asked for ...I went with my fiancé, why would I ask for 2 single beds....next is the fridge, we were there 4 nights and 5 days so was happy the room had a full sized fridge, get into room and its a bar fridge. I went to office to ask about bed and fridge the guy at reception informed me that they come with bar fridges. I kindly explained that their website says full size fridge and the pictures on their website show full size fridges. His response was well it shouldnt...yes sir it shouldnt but it does....and lastly my view...I never knew a rock wall was classed as a view. I can see the ocean if I stand on tiptoes and look over the wall. The people in the apartment next to us moved to a different room on Saturday morning and put their dirty linen in front of their door which shared an entry with ours. It stayed there until 10 on Monday....We are leaving a night early as I just cannot sleep on the bed another night. The mattress is like sleeping on a rock. My partner slept on the floor as it was more comfortable. They also need to sort out their car park. Not enough parks for guests as they have reserved parks for permanent tenants and some of these take up 2 car parks. The whole hotel needs a serious update.

  Support other accomodations in this nice location

  We have been staying annually at the Beach Retreat for the last 9 or 10 years. As we had to cut our last holiday short in early April this year due to the PM declaring 2 days into our stay that non essential travel was not to be taken, the closure of clubs, restaurants etc, the closure of the border (we live in Nthn NSW) and myself being a high risk person, (my doctor advised me to minimise contact with others and go home) we would have ordinarily looked forward to returning again. However, after the dismissive, rude and argumentative treatment we received from new manager Dave, who refused a credit for our remaining paid for non used nights and told us we did not understand what is going on!! (we did not want a refund, just a credit for next year) due to the fact my children booked this trip (in November 2019) as a gift this time. I had called him the previous week to ask what happens if we had to postpone and despite him looking up our booking, he told me a credit would be applied. He made the decision this wasnt applicable when we saw him on vacating as we were already checked in and my kids had made the booking, not us as we have done every other year. Shame, the location is good, the ONLY reason we return (and it is relatively cheap) certainly not the service or the battered run down state of the place. Not enough anymore. We should support businesses affected during this lockdown, but any that rorted or still profited from affected payed up customers will no doubt need to have a good look at their business practices.   Love - Love - Love this place!

  We've stayed here a few times now and will definately keep coming back. The location is sensational, not to mention unbelievably convenient. Walking distance to shops, groceries, cafes, restaurants and straight accross the road from the beautiful coolum Beach. The office staff and new management are so friendly and helpful. We've stayed in a few different style rooms so far, and my favourite are the ocean view and beachfront apartments. Our longer stay recently we had a 1 bedroom beachfront apartment which had a kitchenette, washing machine and dryer - great facilities for our longer stay. I just recently realised that you can request either a spa bath or a walk in shower if they're available. Will definately be back. Well done to all the team at the beach retreat for always making us feel so welcome.

  Wonderful stay

  What an absolutely wonderful stay we had at The Beach Retreat! Stunning accomodation, very tidy and clean. Beautiful facilities. Andrew and Tracey are truly wonderful managers - they could not do enough for us to ensure we had the best stay. Very personable and professional! Thank you! Highly recommend!

  Very good location

  Very nice stay but if you have an iPhone dont expect wifi. Apparently their internet provider doesnt like apple. The top spa was so dirty one day I decided not to get in it. I did have a slight ocean view even though I didnt pay for one.
