  The old style B&B

  We regularly stay in Hotel B&B chain when in France and this one is of the 'old style'. With open balconies and outside stair cases. Unfortunately this one is looking tired. We stayed one night in August as an overnight stop before travelling on. We had a nice friendly greeting from two receptionists. I had reserved our room online ahead of us arriving. We were allocated a room at the back, top floor and a four person, one double and the usual style twin beds upstairs reached by the narrow staircase. Ample for the three of us, my husband, myself and 15yr old son. The rooms are not very big but beds were clean and comfortable. Towels and soap all provided. Ours was a non smoking room but the smell of smoke drifted in where other guests stood on the balcony for a cigarette. The air conditioning did work, although not very efficiently but it was better than none. The bathroom appeared to have been freshly painted but the fittings were tired. We had water stains in the toilet and mould stains (old ones) over the shower. Our toilet also took to flushing itself when someone else in another room flushed theirs. No problem until it did it at 4am. Yes, there was noise from other rooms, but no traffic as we were at the back and that did make a difference. The location is on a roundabout .I did set the sat nav with information from B&B website, this did tell us the hotel was situated on the right when it is actually on the left but we could by then see the Hotel. It did find it no problem though. Breakfast was really good, the typical Hotel B&B set menu but all fresh and plenty of it.For the evening: McDonald's, Red Pepper Grill, Chinese buffet restaurant all close by (within two mins walking). Plus points: Friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient location, free WiFi. Minus points: No long mirror in room, tired bathroom, noise from other rooms easily heard. Would we stay again, possibly but may try somewhere different.

  Bumpy start to the stay

  When we arrived the hotel was not manned and we used the automatic booking in facility to access our room. When we entered the room we could hear a very loud buzzing noise that came through one of the walls and further investigation revealed we were next door to a cupboard with machinery in it. There was no-one to complain to so I tried the national help line button on the wall near the front door, but they could do nothing and just repeated that we had to take it up with local staff when they arrived 3 hours later. This was very frustrating because he also said there were no more rooms of our type available, which rather spoilt the afternoon with us having to worry about what was going to happen that night. However, when she finally arrived, the hotel receptionist was extremely helpful and upgraded us to a family room on the other side of the hotel that was quite, comfortable and spacious. So if we start again and ignore the terrible start to this visit, we did enjoy our stay there and on balance it does have some very nice comfortable rooms. I have marked it down a couple of stars because I feel that 5:00 pm was way to late in the day for staff to arrive. Whilst we were trying to find someone at 2:00 pm, I also came across a man who had arrived to fix the air conditioning and he looked none too happy that nobody was manning the desk as well.

  Great for a one night stopover in Perigueux

  Stayed for 1 night with family as a stopover on our trip to Bergerac. Very good and what you'd expect from a motel. The automatic check-in worked great. Handy as we arrived about midnight. Room was very clean but basic, with free wifi which is good. Breakfast next morning was also decent, okay choice and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Especially when my brother dropped his tray and smashed everything all over the floor! Very good value if you just need a place to sleep with a good breakfast. Would recommend.

  small but clean and smart

  the hotel is very minimal, the rooms are small but clean. close to Perigueux. of you are looking for a romantic hotel this is bot your best choice, of you are looking for a room to sleep this is it. the bathroom is clean and the bed comfortabile

  Small but clean

  We arrived in the afternoon. No one at reception but we obtained a code from this machine with which to access our room. The rooms have these keyless locks that you enter your code in to open the door. The room is basic, clean, did the job of providing us a base to explore the region from. You can see the hotel from the roundabout but getting there was confusing at first because its by a road that is parallel to the main road. Nothing major, just took some getting used to. This property does not have its own restaurant; only vending machines. Breakfast is available for an additional fee. Anyway, its near to restaurants and fast food places. Wouldnt mind booking this hotel if ever were in this area again.
