  I forgot about this hotel until I watched the Hotel Inspector last night...

  Stayed here after getting the late ferry. The photos on the website presented the hotel in a completely different light than the reality. Although the bed was clean, the room was very small. I could not stand up in the shower, and I am not unusually tall. The carpet was so dirty, it had spilled liquid still wet so we did not walk anywhere in the room without shoes. Breakfast - it was advertised as having cooked eggs and bacon, which is unusual for any hotel in France, so we paid 13 for it, planning to eat a reasonable breakfast to set us up for our 600km drive that day. There were no eggs all morning, and only two rubbery rashers of bacon, and no more available. As I was talking to one of the other guests, the situation had been the same for a few days, so probably a regular problem. My expectation of this hotel was similar of that for an Etap Hotel, but the Etaps are far better than this. I can't foresee a time when we would be getting the Newhaven ferry again, but if we did, we would choose another hotel.

  New Breakfast area is not an improvement

  Sorry to say, but the redesign of the breakfast area is not an improvement! We first came across it at the Cherbourg B&B, and hoped it was a "one off". With all the items in one small area (right where everyone walks past to get a table), and the items having to be re stocked from the front, it means that everyone gets in each others way. Makes breakfast a fairly lengthy & stressful time. I may be being cynical, but is it done to put people off going back for a second brioche or croissant (or even stopping for a second coffee?) Probably go to Ibis next time :-(

  DO NOT STAY HERE, SEEDY CHEAP HOTEL

  When we arrived after a ferry crossing after 11:00 there we some very unsavory characters around the car park which made us a a family feel very unsafe. We then got into our rooms, which were very small, dirty and one smelt of stall smoke. The following morning at breakfast, we again felt very uncomfortable having breakfast with some of the dodgy looking people we had seen the night before. If you have just got off a late ferry, i would strongly advise to drive half an hour out of Dieppe and stay somewhere nicer for what would be the same price.

  Xmas wine top up trip

  I travelled over to this area from the uk at Xmas time partly for something to do and partly to stick up on wine. I got a great on a ferry and this seemed ideal and a good deal. Now firstly I did have a problem with my booking in that I booked wrong dates. I did email customer services but they werent interested but the lady on reception was great and sorted my problem. I did end up checking in at 4am off the ferry. Book the booking in system did work ok, you get a receipt printed out with room no. And code. Make sure you press down hard enough to open the door handle. However, my room was warm and clean. Basics ie no hospitality trays but its a budget hotel. The breakfast is adequate to fill you up and all you can eat There is bacon and egg. Etc. My room was cleaned each day I had three nights altogether. No issues at all and I would stay again.

  No Complaints.

  Stayed one night on my return to France. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, smelt fresh and heated. Had a pleasant shower but the soap dispenser was awful. Breakfast cost approx 7 and if one wanted, there was scrambled eggs and bacon. The breakfast was more than adequate.
