    Get what you pay for

    No way this is a 3 star. It is barely a 2 star. Even though there is one building , half is a Days Inn and half is a Baymont. Mold on the shower walls , the tub doesn't drain ,toilet seat slides to the side and our room was not made up after the first night. Had to go to the front desk to get clean towels.

    Wyndham near downtown location 255 28th St Sw, Grand Rapids, MI US

    If you're looking for a good hotel make sure to skip this one. The owner and management should do themselves a favor and actually stay a few nights at the hotel. Someone should do like an undercover boss to see how bad this place really is. Overall service, cleanliness, noise level, room quality are all poor. Would I return or recommend this place to anyone...definitely not. My outlook on Wyndham has lessened for having such a low quality hotel. Remember you've been warned.

    Very disappointed

    I stay often in Grand Rapids and usually at Wyndham hotels without any issues. We booked this hotel for two nights so that we could take my daughter to some appointments at the Children's Hospital. When we arrived, it was very confusing because there is a large Days Inn sign and a large Baymont sign at the road....apparently it's a combination hotel but you don't know that until you get inside. The lobby looked nice and updated. We checked in and got on the elevator which smelled badly of urine. The hallways were dirty, there were piles of laundry outside of doors. The walls and doors looked very beat up. The room itself inside was ok other than the broken toilet seat and the tub that didn't drain properly. We went to dinner and then went to the pool with my daughter. The pool area is very dirty. There were piles of discarded clothes (no one else there) and a pile of long pink fingernails on a chair! The floors were very dirty. The pool was cold and smelled funny-no chlorine. There was mildew on the inside of the pool walls which were very dirty. The hot tub was cold and dirty. We didn't let my daughter go under the water because it was so gross. We got out quickly and made our way back to the room. By this point it was about 9pm and since we were booked there for two days and my daughter wanted to be able to swim, we decided to call the customer service line to see if we could get transferred to a different hotel. After explaining the situation to four different people (transferred around) I spoke with a customer service manager who said he can't transfer my reservation but could book me a new reservation somewhere else. He couldn't guarantee I wouldn't have to pay for the second night there though. This was very frustrating. We decided to stay and just tell my daughter that she couldn't use the pool which she was very bummed about as were we. I am very disappointed in this stay.

    Dingey, Horrible Smell, OVERPRICED

    We got off the elevator to this very weird smell, I could see the light from the hallway when the door was closed and the lights were off. The bathroom door was broken on the back side, the shower was poorly put together, with marks on them for some reason. The water pressure in the shower was a plus, as most hotels have crappy water pressure. The pillows were TINY!! Bed was okay. There was little to no storage for clothes and little sink space in the bathroom. We got there in the middle of the night, and were out within 4 hours. (Personal travel/planning obstacles for what we were there for) I understand that a rate is a rate, but you could at least help or fix the rate for the time we were ACTUALLY there.. I will never go back to Baymont/Days Inn EVER again!!

    Extremely disappointed

    This was BY FAR the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I can honestly say I would rather sleep in my car before staying here again. When we first entered our room we could immediately tell the room was not cleaned even the slightest before checking in. Mind you, we checked in at 9pm. The floors were not vacuumed, the pull out bed was half way put back in the couch with the cushions still on the floor and the bed was not made at all, the toilet seat was broken and the King bed... blood stains and urine stains (see picture attached below). After calling the front desk to complain we waited over 5 HOURS for someone to fix the multiple issues. When returning to our room after house keeping had cleaned the floors were still not vacuumed, no new towels and not even ONE roll of toilet paper was left. The only thing they did was finally change the sheets/bedding after who knows how long. We called and went down to the front desk multiple times asking for more towels and toilet paper, only to wait hours. While waiting for room service to clean our room we decided to visit the pool. Another mistake. The pool and hot tub were both cold, the jets in the hot tub did not work, the water was dirty and the whole area had a horrible smell. To top all of this off, we were promised all of our money back for both nights. Only for them to still withdraw the money a couple days later. We have now been informed we will no longer be getting a refund because? Still unsure. I wouldnt recommend staying here to my worst enemy.
