  Traveling North

  Traveling north for the summer, we stop in Effingham at the Baymont, a former Best Western facility. The motel is now remodeled and smoke free and much improved. The king room was clean, bed comfortable, and nice linens and towels. The bathroom is small compared to the newer motels. We appreciate having a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Due to the Covid virus breakfast was served by the desk clerk based on a variety of preselected items. We chose coffee, tea, bagels, hard cooked eggs which the desk clerk placed on a tray and we took back to our room. Other items were available as well. We appreciated the breakfast as other motels on our trip north served nothing. The pool and exercise room were closed due to the virus. There are numerous restaurants available at this exit. We would recommend and would stay again.

  Good stay

  Everything was pretty good for the price. Room was spacious and comfortable. Cleaning could have been better but I didn't find anything that grossed me out either. Breakfast was kind of a hassle because the dining room was closed but they really tried hard to please us and that's worth a lot. Overall experience was good and I would stay again if in the area.

  Great Baymont

  Best Baymont we stayed in on our trip rooms was clean beds comfortable and had a breakfast just had to order it and take it to your room very nice staff we stayed in another Baymont on our trip and it was nasty

  Driving I-57 South

  Conveniently located on I57 we spent the night at this Baymont motel. The entire motel is nonsmoking. We had a very nice, quiet room with a comfortable king bed, good tv and WiFi. The bathroom is small, but adequate. A lounge chair would be nice as there is only a desk chair in the room. My husband likes to read and relax in a chair in the evening. The breakfast included a variety of choices which were indidually prepared and delivered to us on a tray by the desk clerk, which we took back to our room to eat because of the Covid restrictions. We were very happy with the selection and commend the staff for their efforts in making our stay very satisfactory. The rooms facing the interstate are noisier but have access through the parking lot and the center hallway. The rooms in the back are quieter but accessible only through the hallway.

  Attached to a truck stop

  Had 2 semis parked outside my window, running all night long. 2nd story room with no elevator, inside staircase. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were horrible. Room was clean, staff was nice, close to the hospital
