  Decent Road Trip Stay

  On a recent road trip through western states I needed a room for the night in Glendive. I have never stayed at a Baymont but it seemed like a good option so I gave it a try. Check-in is a bit different as you do so through the restaurant in front of the property. That went well and soon I was in my single queen room. Everything in the room worked fine. Things seemed clean and I had no issues during my stay. I did not use the restaurant for a meal but it seemed like they were trying to use appropriate distancing techniques. I'd stay here again and now have a better sense about this particular brand.

  Rude evening manager checked us in a diner; threw the keys at me and refused to put on a mask.

  We've stayed at clean Baymont Inns with very professional and polite front desk people so it isn't the brand. This particular inn has you check in at a diner (they have the same person manage the hotel and diner) and Nicole barely acknowledged us, refused to put on a mask (there are signs on the door of the diner and hotel indicating this is how they are protecting us as travelers), and threw the keys at me after I asked her to put on a mask. It was late (8 p.m.) and we had traveled 12 hours out of the smokey west otherwise I would've kept looking. The room was clean; the morning manager was VERY friendly and did put on a mask at my request.

  Great Overnight

  We selected this property because of the good T/A reviews. We didn't mind the check in at Pennys Diner, in fact, thought it was kind of neat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and you could tell that they were doing all they could to stop the spread of covid. We had good nights sleep and then enjoyed the breakfast selection that hotel guests are provided. We will use this property again when in this area.

  Disappointing

  Not all staff consistently wore masks. Room smelled overwhelmingly of Frebreze. I booked an efficiency room, but the kitchen was void of ANY dishes/silverware. During non-COVID-19 times I might have enjoyed the small diner on property. There was not a bag breakfast option. Overall, disappointing.

  Traveling through

  We stopped here in the middle of our road trip through Montana. Hotel was fairly clean and front desk friendly. Need to check in at the 24-7 diner, where they give you a discount for food there when you stay. Average hotel, what we needed for a one night stay. Only con was there wasnt a comforter, Im guessing due to Covid. There was a fleece blanket that we used, but still woke up pretty cold.
