    2nd time is a charme

This is my second time here. I came back because it is not the fanciness of the rooms, or the location. It is the combination of friendly service, good food, and clean comfortable rooms. I will be back in September with friends.

    Super Trip

Fantastic family hotel, great service, lovely food & superb location. We had a week here and travelled the countryside. The longest castle in the world is just such an accessible place, taking you back to the Middle Ages. Well worth the trip.

arrived late sure we paid too much

The chap that runs this place is quick to tell you how many generations have run this hotel and I wanted to ask, how many generations have run it poorly? He told us he has a family that lives on sight and his people have run the hotel for years. We were given a castle view room and it was pretty tired. There is much to be done here delayed maintenance but it is likely a good spot for a family with children. The room was large but wonky in many ways. Didn't seen very clean or tidy. Inadequate lighting but we slept well. The restaurant was not serving when we got there and it took a while to find someone to help us when we arrive late on a Friday night. I am certain the rates change based on the person in front of him. I felt it was quite overpriced compared to other places we stayed in the region. The view of the castle is grand but there are many other places to stay in this charming area that would be better choices.

    better than sleeping outside

i arrived there quite late, was on a blind motorbike trip, took a single room with a very simple breakfast for 80 EUR, for sure it was a lesson i needed to learn :) room a bit smelly when i entered but after opening the window for 10 min it was all OK. bathroom clean but all the place is a well maintained 1980's

Months of travel, this was our favourite!!

I don't understand any of the negative reviews. This place instantly feels like home but with the professionalism and service of a top hotel. Spotlessly clean, warm rooms, super comfy beds, AMAZING chef-prepared food, and one of the best views imaginable of the world's longest castle (a short walk away) across the valley. The whole team went out of their way to make sure our stay was just right. We booked for one night, stayed for three... Wished it was more!
