Very nice placeThis great little B&B is located on the edge of Dorchester about a 15 minute stroll into the town centre and Brewery Square attractions if you prefer. The accommodation in the main house is on two floors (watch out for the stairs, very steep) with nice rooms well appointed. There is tea and coffee making facilities and TV's in all rooms. There is other accommodation in Cabins at the rear of a courtyard. Breakfast is really good, all freshly prepared and also cereal and fruit and juices. The seating arrangement is unusual as you all sit around a huge round table, this is really good as you get to meet the other guests and discuss the day ahead or yesterday. Mein host is Gary who is very friendly and he does a great job.

Welcoming host and comfortable stayWe stayed for one night at Bay View, arriving late on a Friday. The host Gary was there to meet us and from the outset was very friendly and welcoming. We had a twin room without en suite, but that wasn't a problem as there was a lovely bathroom just down the corridor. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was well-organised and very tasty with English breakfast plus fruit and cereals on offer. Parking was fine and price was reasonable. Would recommend as Gary was absolutely lovely.

Excellent B&BWe booked quite close to the date so were offered one of the chalets. What a delight! We stayed for one night and had a 2 bed unit with everything we could imagine. There was a sitting area, with comfortable settee, chairs and TV, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle etc, 2 bedrooms, one double, one single and a bathroom. Breakfast with a wide range of options was served in the main house. Nothing was too much trouble for our host Gareth and we would definitely stay there again.

This is what a modern B&B should look likeThis B&B is run by a very nice chap who really seems to want people to enjoy the place - forget about any kind of old-fashioned battleaxe running the place. We turned up early Friday evening - we'd booked a twin room because that was all we could see available online - but he offered us a switch to a different room without us asking as he realised my other half would likely prefer it. He took Covid seriously - but in a way that people could still enjoy themselves. At breakfast, the main table was full, so when my other half wanted some coffee and cereal - his response was "Don't worry - just sit on the sofa and I'll bring it over to you". The main table is itself set up in a way that it pretty much forces guests to be sociable and talk to each other, instead of spending breakfast sitting in silence - and feels much more like a home with guests than a small hotel. The place is about 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Dorchester. The only bad thing is that the host's choice of restaurants in the town isn't quite the same as my taste, but that's really a case of my looking for some way of criticising to avoid giving a score of 100%

Deservedly popularA very comfortable B & B experience for 3 nights. Host was very welcoming and helpful, even to the point of offering us a ride to our walking destination. He pointed us to use of a secluded outdoor space at the the back of the property. Breakfast was of the, "anything you like" variety. Room was large, clean and modern. How often would you get a TV rising out of the bed footer in a B & B at this price? Very convenience location about 10 minutes from town centre. Book with confidence.
