  Awesome resort

  Recently they have a renovation. the room is nice. the staff are friendly. Maybe i come on non peak period the breakfast buffet spread abit less..the children playground too worn down.. the kids club nothing inside..

  Outstanding & Beautiful Beach Resort

  My husband & I just returned from a 3 day/ 2 night break at Batam View Beach Resort, & we had a wonderful time. Having read some of the negative reviews we were a little bit apprehensive, but we take reviews with a pinch of salt & always go by our own experience, & our experiences were great. This is our 2nd time at Batam View Beach Resort & she just keeps getting better with age - like a fine wine. I consider the resort the "Grand Lady" of Batam, as she was the 1st high end resort on Batam. So now for the experiences - we were met by a Batam View representative who expedited our passports through custom. We were ushered into the sunny yellow Batam View van & driven directly to the resort from Nongsapura Ferry Terminal - about a 10 min ride. We had originally booked to come on the Monday to Wednesday, but had to delay until Tues to Thurs. My husband phoned the resort & they were very kind to accommodate the change at no extra charge, for which we are really grateful. We booked an ocean view room & even though we checked in early it was ready. The hotel has undergone a complete renovation & they are just finishing up their top floor - the 5th Floor. We were given a 4th story room & it was just lovely, no renovation noise either. The new rooms are very nicely renovated & bright, sunny & cheerful with a lovely view. We only paid S$180 for 2 nights with breakfast & we consider that so reasonable for a great seaview room at any hotel in the world. The hotel has beautifully matured grounds with gorgeous flora & fauna &an incredibly beautiful carved wood log housing plants. 2 swimming pools. One is close to the hotel with a swim-up bar & the other is an infinity pool at the beach. We loved them both, but the beach was super luxurious, with loungers in the water & an infinity view to the sea. Also next to that was a huge jacuzzi which we had all to ourselves. They do warn you about stone fish in the ocean & caution you about going too far out in the beach, but as we just like to soak ourselves in the saltwater in the shallows the beach was great for us. I also read a sign that they are upgrading the beach as well. One thing we really loved was their mini zoo, behind the main pool, where they have cats (housed in luxurious dens) parrots, an iguana?, small flying squirrels, roosters, hens, a peacock & turkeys with lots of babies that room freely in the mornings. The keeper is happy to let you look at them all, but we felt his love & how he always keeps a watchful eye on his babies. He keeps their cages extremely clean as well & they all looked loved & well cared for. We visited them daily & around 5pm we noticed screens came down so the animals would not be disturbed at night. The grounds are huge & I'm sure would be very popular with corporate events as their seems to be loads of space for fun & games. On our 2nd day we took their free shuttle at 9am to Nagoya Shopping Mall. The shuttle stops at the new Batam Centre Mall first & then off to Nagoya. We felt this was a real perk, as to get to the Batam Centre is 30 mins & Nagoya Mall 45 mins. To provide a free shuttle this far is such a bonus & we could enjoy shopping as long as we liked & then catch our own taxi back to the resort which only cost IDR180,000 (about S$18). Please keep this up, because we felt it was a real bonus, but book your seat the night before. At the price we were paying we expected breakfast to be very minimal, maybe eggs & toast, but what a pleasant surprise. For just a few dollars more over the room cost we got fruit, salad, fresh juice, cereal, porridge with lots of condiments, make your own noodles, western veggies, beans, potatoes, eggs & toast anyway you like (& they were the freshiest eggs we've eaten anywhere), nasi goreng or coconut rice with lontong & some malay cakes & waffles with butter & maple syrup (delicious). Topped off with hot tea & local yummy coffee. I read some negative reviews about the breakfast & I can't even fathom what people are talking about. On top of it all, as my husband & I are both vegetarian, the staff noticed on the 1st day & they especially prepared a vegetarian mee goreng just for us. The staff are absolutely lovely, really sweet, accommodating & chill, just what you are looking for on a beach holiday. I guess one more perk is that Batam View is only 300 metres away from Montigo resort & you can walk across & enjoy their restaurant & bars without even having to pay 4x's the price of staying there. On our last night we got back to the hotel at 8.10pm & there was an awesome band playing in the lobby - we couldn't resist them & had to sit down for a drink & the drinks were so reasonably priced - about S$7 - even with a fantastic band playing - loved them. As the hotel was renovating the 5th floor which is where the spa is, we didn't get a chance to try it, but the masseuse will come to your room if you like. There is also a foot massage outside near the pool until around 10pm or 11pm at night. We wanted a proper massage bed, so we ended up going to a spa at the Nongsapura ferry terminal. If you spend IDR380,000 (S$38 per person) for 2 people, they'll pick you up at the hotel & bring you back - this is the price per person for a 2 hour massage. On our last day, the hotel bus was waiting to ferry us to the ferry terminal (free) right on time. All in all, with the lovely warm Indonesian staff, the beautiful hotel & grounds & all the other amazing things I've described above, we will definitely be back again to the "Grand Lady" - Batam View Beach Resort. Thank you for giving us a wonderful warm, chill experience once again in such a welcoming lovely resort.

  Comfortable Resort

  Staffs are extremely friendly, newly renovated rooms nice. Comfortable and peaceful. Lots of space and a variety of activities. Seafood restaurant just beside the resort (by the sea). Pool bar and bar has nice ambience. Room service available 24/7. Breakfast spread limited but decent. Has massage, pub and ktv in the resort. Sea sports unavailable during Low tide. Highly recommended.

  Good Resort

  Good resort (Average)! Things that may need to be improved is about cleanliness in outdoor. need upgrade in swimming pool, and in beach area. Bfast service is well, room and bathroom are in a good condition and complete.

  spacious resort! windy! always under reconstruction! ghost town!

  Its only a few resorts around this area in Batam! So i was staying there twice and i dont think that I will be back! The place was a very big and empty! As i remember its always empty or full of local or Chinese tourists. Literally, i was staying there twice and both times, It was super empty or over crowed. But of course, good for business since its a huge place. Its always something under reconstruction, hopefully they will finish it one day. Water sports: Well, both staying's i could use it even once. This part of Batam depends on the water level very much! So whenever i was coming there and was trying to use any of the watersports - never worked out. And its one of the reason to go to batam in my point of view! I was even asking the staff to help me out and maybe to let me know when water is in the right level! Unfortunately, service is extremely lucking and it takes a long way to the water sport side so i got tired of that. food and drinks. food is very limited even so I like it. Drinks will take forever and seems like they do it for the first time. But of course I can understand that. Even so drinks are very strong and quit cheep! It looks like a family resort to me so we were bored quick! and its nothing nearby except a beach club! But i was happy about that. It was empty but took a long time to check in. they a small but deep pool with a bar! resort is big but - they can maintain it better! Taxi can be booked only from the hotel! Its far away from the central! cheers!
