    Short break

    Found this hotel to be basic,but clean.staff were very helpful and friendly. Only let down was quality of food,recommend weetabix and not porridge it was tasteless,toast wasnt cooked and arrived cold,coffee poor quality as was sausage.choice of meals at tea time,i had lasagne with garlic bread and my husband had chicken.Both were very poor.next evening we had ham salad,cant really go wrong with that.The hotel needs attention,its very tired and dated.on saying that it was a worthwhile stay and for the money we paid ok. .

    Good location

    Been here before and we liked it. Revisited and we still like it. Handy bus service. Local Tesco express. Hotel, like most hotels, needs a but of tlc but in these difficult times it is difficult for the owners. Food has a good variety to choose from. I think some guests expect 5 star levels for 3 star money!!

    Avoid this place!!

    We just left this place after 4 night stay. Will not be going back! Room had damp on walls and cealing. Very dated net curtains and curtains were hanging off the tracks. Room not very clean at all. House keeper kept forgetting things. No towels most days. HOUSEKEEPER was knocking on our door on 2nd morning at 0830 asking if we were leaving, told her we had another 2 days and then we didn't see her again... She didn't come and make bed ect. I didn't complain as when she did come... It was not much better after she had left so no point. Walls are paper thin... Got woke up lots by other guests moving around in room upstairs and next door thought out the night and early in the morning. The staff were friendly enough but the general feel of this hotel is dated and dirty. DO NOT GO THERE!!!

    Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff

    I stayed here for over two weeks just before this latest lockdown. The rooms were extremely clean, the food was very pleasant and we had a refreshing private swim in the pool. The Manager and Assistant Manager were wonderful to us, nothing was too much for them. We were going through a difficult time and the stay at the Barrowfield eased the stress which was entirely due to the care of the fantastic staff. Thank you Barrowfield.

    Don't Bother going !!!

    I went from Oldbury With Daish . Only 9 people on the.. coach for the entire journey. Pleasant enough with sufficient comfort breaks, reached the hotel in record time according to the Driver. The problems started when the Manager leapt on board and issued room keys with a garbled message and departed . Passengers were queuing up at reception, I was last in the queue and told firmly that I had my keys go to my room, which I did ! My single room was akin to matchbox, thin walls, poorly decorated, ancient net curtains. The shower miniscule so much so stepping out of the shower blindly I stepped into the toilet bowl !It was noisy too I later went for the Evening meal to discover the nothing was prepared for me due to the fact I had not completed a form, the reason that the other passengers had queued on our arrival. The waiter made me feel stupid and was not happy, but did offer me choices. I went to reception and a very helpful young lady sorted the form out and helped me complete it. and placed it in the Restaurant. I also completed a breakfast form placing it in the same place. The form got lost got lost and the breakfast totally misinterpreted !!!! I was far from happy !! I arrived for breakfast and was left an Orange juice, nothing else !! I was expertly ignored by the waiting staff and I gave up in disgust and humiliation. Covid Infection rules of wearing masks were ignored in the Reception area by both Guests and staff when walking about ! To save further humiliation. I catered for myself using the local Tesco from there onwards Having had a stroke and further health issues I did not want or require any stress or confrontation with anyone. My fellow coach passengers noticed my absence and understood my actions. Even passing in my room key was accepted by reception one day and thrown back at me by the Manager the next by throwing it back at me back at me ! Suffice to say I could not wait to get back home as the Manager made me feel so unhappy. I did make an email complaint which was finally answered weeks later with absolutely no apology only that lessons had been learned and please book again ! Finally, I would say that I am a well travelled person and having spent and did not expect luxury but at least to be looked after compently ! My friend , a local retired hotelier feared for my health upon visiting me there finding me in tears outside there.
