Great time in sunshine and foul weatherWe stayed overnight at Lost farm and played the course on the first day followed by barnbougle dunes on day 2. Day 1 the weather was perfect , the sun shone and the wind dropped , we enjoyed 18 holes of a magnificent links course with some really great holes. On day 2 at barnbougle the realities of a links course showed themselves, for the first 9 holes it hosed down and was blowing a gale. We struggled through it but it was very hard work. After lots of hot drinks on the 9th we kept going , finally the rain stopped and we were just playing the course and the wind. Was it worth it and would we go back ...you bet.. The hotel rooms were big and had everything you could need. Our rooms had a view of the sea and a lovely lost farm hole. The restaurant has a magnificent view over the country side with huge glass windows. Sadly the service is all a bit sloppy, the wine they produced was a different year to the one on the list , one of the dishes was not very good but we were told tough the chef gone home. With a tee off time of 8.30 we went down to breakfast as it opened at 7.30. It looked like the staff were just arriving, we struggled to get the things we wanted and dishes were still being laid out as we left. Frankly I would expect better.!!!!

MixedPlayed and stayed at Lost Farm. Golf course was amazing and we luckily had a day with not too much wind. Everything else was only just on par. Rooms were very basic for the price and my wife had a spa treatment that was only just ok. We also had dinner where again we were let down with the food quality. 5 stars for the golf, 2.5 for the rest. Will be back for the golf but would not stay or eat again.

HoneymoonNewly wed ( Friday 13th November) this was our 2nd night as husband & wife. We stayed in room 106. Everything was great. Clean & comfortable . However...the sliding door to enter the room area was extremely noisy and sounded like a heap of bloody trams pulling up & taking off, very annoying and not what you expect when paying the price asked. This was every time someone entered. We could hear it from room 106, I'd pitty anyone who would be put in room 101 which is right next to it. We did mention it to reception and their comment was " yes we have had a lot of complaints about it, but we have to get people from Launceston to come fix it". Obviously not on their important list of things to do. Put some oil on it for gods sake! Meals and service in the restaurant was great, lovely meals and views. Jamie & Melita Viney

EXCELLENTWe stayed in a Golf View Executive Room. The room is large, comfortable and quiet. We slept very well in the comfortable bed. We had lovely views to the golf course and mountains beyond. The meals in the restaurant are delicious with good service from friendly staff. The views here too are lovely looking over the Course to the sea. Its a real treat.
