  Good but is it worth the price?

  Given that we cant travel overseas and even booking an interstate holiday is fraught with danger, it stands to reason places like this will be extremely popular, despite what on any view is a very steep price.The location and view is amazing and the pool area is extremely instagram able.We were in room 10 which had a couple of issues.Firstly, the deck was affected at times by cooking smells from the pool bar restaurant .Secondly, the shower and toilet were together and so if you want to the toilet after someone had a shower your feet got wet. There were not enough lounges by the pool and we ended up going to the beach ( which is lovely) Staff were on the whole good but with a few hiccups like our breakfast order disappeared one morning. Our experience at the restaurant was 5 star ( see separate review) .

  Passed its used by date

  We have visited Bannisters many times but sadly this will be our last. As usual the surrounds and service were fantastic but the rooms are passed their used by date. As other reviews have said, the rooms are tired and dated and, to be frank, horrible in parts. For a hotel room that costs over $600 per night, I expected much much more and this, to be honest, is marginally better than your average suburban motel. I will never spend the money charged here again and I suggest others seeks out better options locally. Sadly, bannisters had a used by date ending 2019. RIP.

  A perfect weekend away

  Book at weekend get away to Bannisters by the Sea and was a little nervous with the negativity written about the property. But was truly surprised to be welcomed into a perfect piece of paradise on the south coast. The staff friendly and willing to help with any questions. The room was delightfully detailed and had small items installed to make your stay welcoming. The pool area and deck clean with fresh towels in abundance. The pool deck menu pleasant and all the meals we had were very tasty. Had lunch at Rick Steins, all fresh and staff friendly with no gestures to move you on quickly. For a mini weekend away it was all we could ask for.

  Serenity by the Sea

  What a phenomenal stay. The moment we arrived we were hit with the WOW factor. The staff greeting us with 5 star hospitality, Terri at the desk a warm smile and abundance of knowledge. A huge sleek bright room, crisp white decor, an insane bathroom, and an audible WOW from both myself and my partner. We moseyed down to the pool bar and a crystal blue infinity pool blending into the horizon welcomed us. Friendly staff behind the bar whipping up a couple tasty well garnished cocktails helping start the afternoon off well. We finished the afternoon with Gaz taking us down the road (with the complimentary transfer) to the pavilion for a delicious dinner accompanied with unique cocktails, a spicy mango chilli margarita pairing well with a beautiful linguine, Zoe delivering phenomenal service. All In all a 5 star stay.

  Wedding Anniversary Bliss

  My husband surprised me with an ocean view room at Bannisters on the day of our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Wed heard quite a lot about this place over the years, the reviews were mixed but mostly good. Well there was no question in our minds about the quality of the experience the minute we opened the door to our room. We were both blown away, gorgeous room, stunning views inviting terrace. We loved it, and it didnt stop there, everything was first class. Highly recommend it.
