  Good location and value for money

  The hotel is in a fantastic location near the centre of Darlington. Overall, it has a nice feel and good seating areas. The staff were Covid compliant and encouraged guests to be too. The staff were all very polite and helpful. However, I was disappointed that I was not provided with any hand soap in my room, and neither were my friends in another room. We went to reception to ask and were told that the hotel no longer provides soap in rooms unless you go to reception to ask. This is disappointing to hear at any time from a cleanliness perspective, but seems morally irresponsible during a global pandemic. My friend was interested in visiting the spa and was given a number to ring and book. It would have been good if we had been able to reserve a place at the spa to book directly. We didn't end up going to the spa because it was a 25 minute walk. This should be made clearer on the hotel website. Overall, it is a nice place to stay and worth the money paid. I would recommend the hotel to others visiting Darlington.

  Working from Bannatynes

  A great productive day being able to work in such a cosy, hospitable location. Tea and coffee served throughout the day. Delicious vegan platter for lunch. Courteous, attentive staff throughout our time. Thanks so much John and team...we will be back Caroline x

  Just had the best meal in Maxines restaurant in Bannatyne Hotel Darlington. Food was very tasty, well presented, portion size perfect. Spotless clean area. Attentive friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Thank you x

  Excellent wedding venue

  My husband and I married at Bannatyne Darlington in October 2019. The service was impeccable and we were so happy with everything . Several of our guests stayed the night too and everyone had nothing but praise for the rooms and food. Thank you for making our day so special and I can only apologise that its taken a year to get round to writing our review! I hope we can get back soon.

  Our Pandemic Wedding!

  We were booked to get wed at Bannatynes a little later in November and then we pulled it forward to beat the new lockdown and within 48 hours Jade and the team at Bannatynes had pulled together a flawless day - it was really within 24 hours as we didnt know from the registrar until the day before. The service was faultless, expectations were well set out on what could and couldnt be achieved and there was nothing from our original day that couldnt be done - our guests said you wouldnt have known that we had pulled it together in 24 hours or that it was intimate because of the pandemic more that we had opted for that! It was so beautiful, the day ran like clockwork the food was amazing the service was fab I honestly cannot say enough to thank them for what they did for us. Incredible!! We will deffo go back for our big celebration when we can!
