  Fabulous location. Easy walking distance to the strip but also good restaurants outside the hotel. Poco loco good but charge 200d to get in at night but they have bands. Manos and munas are both good and reasonably priced. Rooms spotless but toilet a bit battered. Only reason not 5 stars is lack of hot water. Bed comfiest I've ever slept in. Bar open for food and drinks very late. Breakfast same each day but good start to the day and plentiful. If you love cats please bring box of whiskers with you!!! I would recommend to anyone. If you want 5 star all inclusive it's not for you but if you want genuine gambian people and accommodation then definitely come here

  Excellent

  Just returned from a fantastic holiday to The Gambia and its happy smiling and always helpful people.. the hotel is fantastic, pool area lovely with sun beds available all the time. Pool bar well stocked. Set in a fantastic location with restaurants a minutes walk away offering a large menu. Wonderful beach couple of minutes walk away which is spotless with plenty of facilities. Short walk to the strip or if you dont want to walk an abundance of cheap taxis available. The breakfast sets you up for the day with a good choice of breads, salads, fruit and cake. You can get eggs as many as you want cooked fresh just as you like them, made and served by a lovely friendly egg lady. My room was on the first floor overlooking the gardens from both front and back window, the comfiest bed ever, plenty of hanging space, bring your own hangers. We had air conditioning as an extra which is needed, also cheap. More than adequate bathroom with a great and powerful shower, only downside in this hotel is the lack of hot water. I would highly recommend the Bamboo to everyone, you will not regret it

  would i return ??????? felt like a prison !

  On arrival swift room allocation .First impression of the room a prison cell bars up all the windows prisoner cell block H ! THE door had gaps all around . the toilet was bodged up with a plastic bag around the ball valve to stop it leaking and didn't fill properly the double glass sliding doors had a crack in the glass all across it the windows wrattled at night when he wind blew so I stuck a piece of cardboard in it ! the shower lost more water down the joint than came out the shower head ! room dark and dingy need I go on . The night club at the rear has music until 5am that bounces off the walls in the room I had so not much sleep ! when music stops then the taxi men take great delight in honking their horns for another 10 mins then morning howling prayers Bath towels are collected from your room at 8am ! returned later in the day great so if u haven't got a towel u cant dry your hands or shower after 8am ! Very basic room all in all must say a great big double bed in room and that's all ! Breakfast is basic . The restaurant on site I must say does great food and stacks of choices at competive prices . I ate here in evening for 3 nights save getting harassed by the guys in the street which is very stressful I mite add and an utter pain . The pool was lovelly . The little garden at the beginning of the hotel by the pool had stacks of birds frequently that was a bonus and monkeys popped in too . A bit on the cost of food - julbrew 100 dalasi can of coke 60d food ranged from 295 for fish and chips to t bone steak 450d sweets were from 180d - 250d a glass of wine 200d or a bottle for 800d small bottle water 50d Water - get from outside you get 6 1 litre bottles for 180d JULBREW- outside ranges from 70 -100 for a bottle 330mls in some places u can ask for draught julbrew 100d for a pint ! I ate basic food really and I still needed about 30 sterling a day as a guide for drinks and food Plug sockets are the English ones Go with an open mind ! they say well its Africa !

  Nice hotel in a good location

  Hotel is in a good location being close to restaurants, shops and beach, all within walking distance. Hotel rooms could do with updating and those located further away from the pool bar lack access to WiFi. Breakfast adequate to start your day with omelettes, fried or scrambled eggs being made to order. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

  HOTEL is nice

  Hotel situated near the ocean - 200 meters. Breakfast all time the same, but if you can eat you can do it. Room is clear and with bathroom and toilet. Bed is for me normal to sleep. Swimming pool and bar are very good and nice.
