Great host and lush little hideaway. We stayed here for 4 nights over the Christmas period. The huts are basic and rustic but they were clean and spacious. Ken and his family were great hosts and very helpful and accommodating with our needs and interests. This place has a very nice atmosphere and we were treated like one of the family. Breakfast was basic and plentiful but it is included in the price which is good. The only thing I would say is the evening meals were slightly overpriced for what we received. If you have a car like we did this is a great location as it is not too far from the highway and in the fork of the road to Pai and Chang Dao. Chiang Mai is less than an hour away also. It is a lovely peaceful place.

been there for two nights, nice to be in full nature and hear all the animals at night.the girl who welcomed us wanted to cook our diner. we agreed... the only thing she did was cook some rice and for the rest she went to the village to get ready made food. we were the only 2 guests so we understood this, wasn't it for that the food was almost cold when surved... when we got the bill for the dinner, she billed us more then three times what you pay where she got the food!!! the breakfast was alright, fried eggs, toast, coffee... for the first morning because the second morning.... NO BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!!!!! the only person around was the maintenance man. he gave us two glasses and some orange juice... he appologised for not being able to cook for us.. it's not that this is something that made our day start in a bad way but it was a real pitty, not professional at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be connected to Nature, best place to stayThe people are very nice, went there late at night and they welcomed us and prepared dinner for us even if the kitchen was closed. They also have a nice selection of Inca tea and Inca products that are made by themselves. They collect the leaves and do all the processing. Should try it. The campfire was also nice to sit at and tell stories. At night when you sleep you can hear owls and other night birds and insects. The lodge itself is very rustic but quite clean, I mean its an experience very different from Hotels but very pleasant if you know how to enjoy it. Stayed there only one night though, wished I stayed more to be able to explore the forest.

Nice location but expensive for what you getStayed here for 3 nights in January with a large group. The Bamboo Huts are very rustic style and basic with a bed, small table and bathroom. Waterheater not working nor were they in all the other rooms rented by friends. Mattress typical Thai style and very firm which was fine by me but not for others in group who preferred softer. My room had a mosquito net which came in useful, many others didn't so I would say if you stay here in mosquito season ensure you are given a room with one as there are many holes in the huts for them to enter during the evening. The management were quite obliging to our large group and meals were quite good all though a little bit over priced. Location is very good and set in the hills in a very peaceful area. The lodge seemed to be quite lacking in general maintenance which which had it been up to scratch would have made a big difference. Considering what else is available around Chiang Mai and in the same area the rates are somewhat expensive for what you get. Would I stay here again I have to say no. Better available at better prices.

If you want to get away from it all - come here!We had two huts when we stayed here. One for us and one for our daughters (17 and 13). Very well equipped. Spacious, clean with mosquito net (as there are lots of mosquitos!) over the beds! Lights are switched on when it begins to get dark. There was wifi but we were unable to access, which was a blessing as it meant we could take it all in. We took a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and when we arrived here we were very hungry and tired. The host asked us what time we wanted to eat and we said for one hours time. When we went to the 'restaurant', we could not believe the quality and quantity of the food. We had an absolute feast. We had water throughout the meal and a couple of beers. There was no price so I was not sure how much it would be but when I settled the bill, I was shocked that it was as little as THB1100 (equivalent to £25). We had a very comfortable nights sleep. Yes you could hear all the animals but it was lovely to connect with nature. Although breakfast was included, we did not have breakfast as we were picked up at 5.30am for the Elephant Sanctuary. Wonderful hosts! I would thoroughly recommend this lodge!
