  En un parque natural

  El hotel es muy bonito y está rodeado de campo. Una vez que te acostumbras a la moqueta del suelo, puedes disfrutar de esta casa antigua a las puertas del parque natural New Forest. El pueblo queda un poco alejado (a unos 15 minutos andando), pero es ideal para desconectar.

  The Lodge

  Had a great socially distanced evening in The Lodge with Friends. The Lodge is a great investment for the hotel to make in these times for both residentsand non residents. We enjoyed great pizzas from their oven washed down with the hotels HPA beer that is brewed on site. Well done

  Evening with family

  I had the opportunity to visit the Balmer Lawn Hotel for a meal with my family whilst we were in the New Forest. We were fortunate to have a table outside on the terrace under the new canopy that has been installed. With the outside bar and terrace (now called The Lodge) looking very much like you are in a ski area, the cold weather that evening completed the ambience. We, and all other guests and the staff, were very observant of the COVID restrictions in operation but this in no way detracted from our enjoyment of the evening. the food was excellent, a really good selection on the menu and the new beer offered (Henry's Pale Ale) was superb. All in all, another excellent evening at the BLM. The BLH continues to get better and better!

  Faulty Towers but not funny

  Take a big breath, here we go... Booked overnight for a special birthday. After asking to see the tasting menu numerous times before we arrived to decide if we wanted it or just go with a la carte, and then again when we checked in, we finally managed to get given it as we sat down for our evening meal! After not being allowed to have a pre-dinner drink on the terrace because we had come down only 15mins before our dinner reservation (we were told it would take too long) we decided not to go for the tasting menu. My husband ordered the burger and I had hake. We waited an hour for our food, would have had time for that g&t afterall, and when it came the burger was so over cooked it was like leather! My hake was tiny and came with, what looked like (sorry but its the only way to describe it) dog poo, see picture! When we mentioned the burger to the waiter he said they had to cook it like that, its the law!! Well, Ive eaten in enough pubs, let alone fine restaurants, where they actually ask you how you want your burger cooked to know that thats absolute nonsense. Anyway he took the burger away and replaced it with a tiny chicken breast and chips after waiting another 40mins! Im afraid we couldnt be bothered with pudding. The next morning breakfast was totally disorganised. Had to ask for coffee, several times, there were people queuing up for one lady to serve you yogurt, fruit etc and then you had to queue up again to get your hot food. No toast brought to the table. The room itself was nice, balcony room, apart from no aircon in the hot summer and the bathroom is very basic and old fashioned. I forgot to mention that we found some ladys underwear under the table on the balcony, so much for COVID cleaning. We did ask to see the Manager the next morning, but were told that he was busy. Never once was the special birthday mentioned. We were so disappointed, and would definitely never go back!

  Excellent food and very helpful staff

  After postponing/cancelling holidays several times in 2020, we booked a somewhat last minute stay at Balmer Lawn Hotel. We had the most wonderful stay. All the staff were incredibly helpful and we felt comfortable with COVID-19 procedures that were in place. The food at breakfast, in the main restaurant and in the Lodge were all absolutely top notch and really made our stay - there was so much choice we only ate somewhere else on one of our 5 nights. The location of the hotel was ideal with lots of excellent walks on our doorstep. The jacuzzi was broken during our stay which was a shame, but not the fault of the hotel. My only negative comment would be that the room was incredibly warm during our stay and we were not able to change the temperature of the radiator to our liking but only a minor point really. We have already said we would love to come back and stay again.
