  Bad state of maintenance - Bad experience

  We booked a 4-room for our family in May 2010. 100 euro including breakfast. Positive: near the motorway A7 (but noisy), parking place near room, reasonable breakfast, kind reception lady (speaking even a bit of english !) Negative: no restaurant during weekend (we were sent to the restaurant of the nearby Campanile hotel), problems with keys of the rooms (we tryed 4 rooms, it lasted 1 hour to have a good one (grrrrr)), small sanitary, room not very well cleaned (lots of dust dust !!), airco not functioning and window could not open anymore because of lack of maintenance (luckily it was nog very warm that evening), stuff of other people in front of doors of other rooms, toilet of restaurant not functioning (...) There are not only travellers in the hotel but also people living there. We found a lot of stuff of them on the outside of the motel rooms. Some of the rooms are quite remote. Complaining did not help and we felt not taken very serious by the director of the hotel. They are also not responding afterwards to my emails. Balladins seems more interested in our money then in their customers. We were not very happy !! I advise everybody to inspect the room first and not to pay in advance as refunding will not be accepted by this hotel !! So be carefull. Look at www.booking.com for more experiences like ours. The nearby Campanile hotel looked a lot better and the restaurant is not a four-star restaurant offcourse but not bad at all.

  Inhospitable attitude, doublechecked rooms rent out when arrived

  7 persons and a dog booked 3 rooms in advance, doublechecked in the morning that the arrival was going to be late When we arrived about 23 o´clock everything was closed although the service was promised to be 24 hours. After several calls the hostress arrived, was very angry, didnot understand English at all, gave us the keys to 2 rooms. In one room there was a man already sleeping, the other room was ubelievable mouldy and we were 7 persons! The hostress told us she woild not charge us for the rooms, neverless 50 euros were taken from my account.

  It is what it is. A motel.

  We stayed ovetnight on route down South. It's pretty basic but ample parking and convenient to the motorway. The two staff we met at check in and check out were pleasent enough. Thought it was a little overpriced for what it is. A grill restaurant is adjacent so we got fed in the evening. The hotel had a basic but good continental breakfast. And that's that. It's basic and we went on our way!

  Did the job...

  We had been driving for 6 hours and just wanted somewhere to sleep for a few hours (car not an option with teenagers!!) - it was 1.30am. We pulled up and outside reception was an automatic check in service. We selected the room type, put in our credit card and got the room key. We did the same for the second room. It took us 5 minutes from pulling up to getting to the room. I'm giving this a 5 star rating purely because of the fact that for a late night traveller who just wants to go to bed, this couldn't have been easier!! It's not a luxury room with fluffy towels but has everything you need. At the end of the day - you get what you pay for!!

  Pleasant reception staff. Room adequate. Ok for money.

  We asked for a quiet room & were given a disabled 'cottage' Clean, adequate for an overnight stay en route from France to Spain. Ate at nearby Campanile (poor) so can't comment on the dinner. Breakfast nothing special. Friendly & helpful staff though.
