Great short stayWe had a quick visit for 2 nights here, got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was a pleasant surprise (we had booked a 1 bedroom). This little place has great character and we loved it's unique-ness! The suite had plenty of room and was well equipped for what we needed. Loved the style of the furnishings especially. The pool area was quaint and perfect for what we wanted - there was a pleasant vibe amongst the guests and people were friendly and open for a chat. The location is great, not too far from the beach, and great restaurants a stone's throw. Had a great pizza for $6 and some good strong cocktails for $5 at Sugar Rays, just a 1 minute walk up the road. Chapter 2 across the road from there, also amazing! The included brekky was fabulous - hot, fresh and tasty. Choice of 4 options al a carte plus fresh fruit, with the option to purchase additionals if you feel the need. We ordered room service twice and it was also delicious and reasonably priced. Just a couple of letdowns, hence the less stars. 1. Some of the tiling on the edges of the pool is razor sharp - particularly on some of the stepping stones in the pools (I noticed so when I sat my daughter on one seperating the shallow pool from the deep, and she had scrapes on the backs of her knees). This really needs to be seen to immediately - its only a matter of time (if it hasn't happened already) that someone gets cut and it made me super anxious when my daughter was in the water. 2. The floor of our room was filthy on arrival - it had been swept but not mopped. After 5 minutes of crawling around, my 2 year olds hands and knees were black. Not good. 3. The coffee at breakfast.. but this seems to be a common theme in Bali! All in all - we will be back. Hopefully these things are rectified next time as given all the positives, I would hate for it to be our last.

Sad. Lost potential. This place is like so many others in Bali. When first constructed, they're lovely and clean, pleasant outlook, good pool. I don't know how old this place actually is, but it's pretty evident that virtually no maintenance has been done since the place was first built. Our room on the ground floor, chosen because of its proximity to the pool, has a very noticeable smell of mould or mildew or bad drainage, the minute you enter. Most of the furnishings are very much worse for wear. The bathroom, especially the shower, is very uninviting. Wear your thongs or buy some very strong bleach. Around and in the pool, lots of broken tiles. Either the filter is not working at all, or they are saving it for another day. Loose hair and other debris abound. Tiny, tiny fridge, which hasn't been defrosted or cleaned since Adam was a boy. I believe there are many better options for this money, and some for even less. Not really recommended at all.

Fabulous 2 bed room apartmentWhilst I heard some of the hotel rooms are looking a bit tired the privately owned apartments are superb. There are 5, 2 bedroom and 2 1 bed room apartments. The ground floor is the largest. The cooked breakfast are great value at $7.50

Run down and needs workWe stayed here for the first time. Reception staff very helpful and experienced. Breakfast was fine and could order specialty coffee for additional price if you choose. The place is very run down. There was obviously a DVD player in the room at one stage, but no longer and the cords just left there. There was a light fixture missing from the dressing area that was simply removed and not replaced. The cupboards and shelves were very old and look like they were cheap items to begin with. They havent fared well. The bathroom fan could not be turned on and was all mouldy. The shower recess was horrible. Ive posted pics of these faults. The swimming pool had a lot of cracked tiles on the edges making this dangerous. They really need to spend some money on this place if they want new guests to return. We go to Bali regularly but wont be returning here.
