    A little bit of paradise

Just had 10 days in heavenly Taurito. Already booked to return! Take no notice of any earlier reviews; Mark W has a one bedroom apartment there with splendid views overlooking the public gardens in the valley below - and with an elevated uninterrupted views straight out to sea. The public areas are well maintained; two lifts then about 8 steps to reach the terrace gate. The maintenance staff were friendly and helpful. The roof pool was idyllic. Very quiet, dozens of free loungers, a nice little desperate pool for kiddies, fantastic sunbathing trap, and all cleaned immaculately every morning before it was opened. The apartment was larger than many we've stayed in previously. Very clean. Loads of bedding and towels. A big TV screen (put it on one of the Arabic channels pre-set to version original to get almost 24/7 films in English with Arabic subtitles). DVD player, novels, etc. The kitchen was small - but big enough to do more than enough cooking on holiday. Two fridges (keep one for lots if cheap local alcohol!); the larger with a separate freezer big enough for 2 weeks provisions. Go to the Hyperdino or Spar in Mogan (10 minutes drive along the coast, or 2 stops from the nearby bus stop - or a 10 euro taxi ride) and ask for "Domicillia" (home delivery). They will give you a time window and ring you to unlock and let them in when they carry it up to your kitchen. No charge. The beds are comfy. The bath with shower over was fine. The two terraces meant we could eat in the shade in the "outdoor dining room" yet use the other (South facing out to sea), to sunbath in privacy - and enjoy a nice cocktail watching the sunset shadows over the volcanic landscape opposite. Fascinating. The apartment has everything you need for a quiet relaxing stay. The valley has local tourist shops providing everything necessary for a beach holiday; a water park, cafés to sit and watch the world go by, a fantastic inexpensive spa and gym at Club Krabbe, and a small sheltered beach with loungers, parasols, water sports, and good clean swimming seawater. We found so many cheap places to eat 10 minutes drive away in Puerto Rico. Something for everyone. Don't miss Mogan, aptly called "The Little Venice", with it's beautiful harbour, upmarket boat fraternity, huge fish to hand-feed, loads if eateries of every type, unexpected water canals, and bouganvillea lined walkways. The beach was clean with everything you could need within sight. Our host, Mark W, couldn't have been more helpful. The only slight blip was the Internet in the valley. It is a very quiet small resort and the substructure for Internet is being improved but is not yet perfect. Good enough for occasional holiday use - but don 'to expect to stream films or run your business from your laptop whilst on holiday. But, if you are on holiday, do you really want to do that? I didn 't! There is faster Internet in the big hotels down in the valley, plus car hire, a GP who speaks English and works with most of the private health insurers, a cash dispenser, pharmacist, etc etc. We thoroughly recommend this place - though hope YOU don't book it when we want to return! Bon voyage :-)

    Great for a relaxing break.

Good apartments privately owned so very peaceful. These apartments can only be rented through the owners and this may prove difficult but not impossible. I am an owner and visit regular to avoid the cold British weather.Amazing views down to the sea and beach. Regular buses and taxis to take you quickly to the nightlife. A quiet night awaits you on your return, perfect.

Great apartment for a family stay

We rented this place for 32 days from Mark W. a lovely clean apartment with everything you could wish for. Mark had the fridge well stocked for us on arrival with a welcoming bottle of cava which was gratefully drunk. His apartment is right at the top of the building so you are guaranteed lovely views. Two outdoor eating terrace areas, one we had breakfast on as there was a lovely cooling breeze until about 11.00 a.m and another more shaded area which seated four quite comfortably. The swimming pool was just outside our apartment . It was particularly nice at about 7 in the evening while it was still very hot out, a lovely baby pool which my grand daughter loved. Staff cleaned pool and surrounding area thoroughly every morning for two hours. There was a regular bus service to the idyllic Mogan, bus came every 20 mins and at a mere 1.40 was great value. There is also a nice restaurant up the hill in Cala Blanca, where they had two happy hours every day from 12.00 til 1.00 and from 4.00 til 5.00. The beach was 10 minutes away and there were plenty of watersports there, there are some nice beach bars there too especially Lola Ville which does great salads, smoothies, hamburgers at a very reasonable price.

    Holiday

My friend and I stayed here for 1 week , the apartment is situated on a hill but has fabulous views of the bay and sea . The apartment was well equipped for a self catering holiday . The roof top pool was very quiet for the first few days which was very nice . The welcome bottle of fizz in the fridge was a very nice gesture and did come in handy as it was my friends birthday whilst we were there - Buck's Fizz brekkie went down well . Cheers Mark . Would I return - most definitely .

Good solid hotel with a pool and in a great location to commute to the main areas on the Island.

This is a good hotel in a brilliant location for commuting to the main areas on the island, its only a short bus/taxi ride from the two main towns and a short walk from a nice little beach. Would recommend this hotel for holidays as a couple or with older kids, lots to do and see locally.
