    Warm Bayer feeling!

We spent 4 days in Bajor Panzió, Bük, Hungary. It was one of our best expeience ever. There are 2 kinds of rooms: silver and gold. We were in a gold one on the first floor: very modern furnitures, free wired internet connection, led tv, balcony, etc. It was very friendly, clean and bright. There is a restaurant downstairs where we had our breakfast and dinner. The quisine was good and the waiters are very warm-hearted, good people. We felt like home. Their friendly environment attracks us to spend some more time there next year.

Nice apartments, helpful stuff, plenty of food

Only 2-3 minutes from Bukfurdo Bath this hotel is located in the centre of the town, offers solid accommodation especially for old couples who needs some tranquility after a long day in the bath. The staff was helpful even during booking and on-site when we asked for some extra heat in the room. Don't bother with the lunch 'cause you'll get 3 plates a-la-carte for dinner! Well cooked and plenty and you just have to wait for a couple of minutes to be served.

    False expectations

We spent here 4 days/3 nights. We received this trip as a gift, so it was not our choice of accommodation. Still, we had pretty high expectations, because the advertising was promising exquisite services. The first disappointment came shortly after our arrival, when we wanted to check in, there was no receptionist, only the owner, who spoke very bad German and no English. He was gloating about how big our apartment is. We didn´t think much of it, until he hopped into his old car and gestured us to go back to our car and follow him. We found out, that we were not actually accommodated in the pension itself, but in the villa 3 streets away on Forras street. We had the whole first floor of the villa for ourselves and the second floor was occupied by bus driver of the Czech travel agency. Yup, the bus parked in front of our window, because there was very little parking space in front of the pension. The villa looked like it was recently reconstructed, but the repairs were very sloppy. The toilet was leaking, there were missing tiles. The separate bathroom was big, but with very dirty and outdated shower stall and dim lights. There was no hairdryer. The towel hanger was barely standing. There were two small bedrooms, simply furnished with double beds, TV and a small chest. There were mosquito nets on the windows, which were very useful. Both bedrooms were facing the street, so we could hear a group of Czech families from the opposite house having a party on Friday. Other than that it was fairly quiet. There was also a small kitchen corner with adjoined living room, small sofa, TV and another double bed. The fridge was working. There was also an old microwave and a dishwasher, we did not use them. Overall the house was not very well cleaned, there was dust on the floors, the bathroom stall was filthy and the bedspreads smelled of bleach. There was also a small yard at the back, where you could find the assortment of rusty chairs and loungers, and an old rusty grill. Huge parts of fence were missing at the back and at the front yard. At least we could park the car in the drive, where the house made nice shade. The overall decor of the villa was for the lack of better expression weirdly mismatched. Awful grey tapestry in the living room made our eyes hurt, and looked weirdly out of place, because the other walls were yellow and of different style. The tiles were of different styles and colors and the whole interior made us feel like we were in the house in the middle of reconstruction. The furniture was an assembly of old useless junk, far cry from the "sophisticated". Since we were living in the villa, we could not use the amenities of the pension, like sauna or a pool, because it was not convenient. We also had to commute for breakfasts and dinners. The restaurant was open from 7 till 10 for breakfast. Twice we came at around 8-8:30 and the buffet was mostly eaten. They did not bother to refill, so we had to eat whatever was left after the group of approximately 50-60 Czech tourists, who came at 7:30. The restaurant was also crowded to the maximum capacity, when they were there. The last day we came at 7 to finally eat normal food. Still, the choice was very poor. A small vitrine with plates of ham and cheese, 5 strawberry yogurts, some butter, nutella and honey, scrambled eggs and sausage, bread and rolls, waffles. I suspect the scrambled eggs were sitting there for whole 3 hours in heated container. The dinner service was not much better. You got to choose from the menu - they had soups, main courses and desserts. The menu was in German, English and Czech, although badly translated through google translator. The waiter spoke mostly broken German with bits of English. The choice was very poor, the main course consisted of all kinds of fried greasy staff, maybe 3 local dishes, spaghetti bologna, tuna salad and very little other choices. Beware if you plan to go with children, the kids dishes were fries with ketchup, fried chicken with fries and ketchup, pasta with cheese, fried fish fingers with fries and ketchup... basically greasy stuff not suitable for children. Beverages were mostly reasonably priced. You could pay with HUF or EUR in the bar. The service was horribly slow. We knew the group from the bus came every day at 19:30. Two times we managed to come earlier, but once we forgot and we waited until 21:00 for the food. I think the poor tourists from the bus were waiting over 1,5 hour for dinner every day, since the kitchen was understaffed. The food was greasy, rice overcooked and soups without any flavor. Overall we were very disappointing with the quality of food and the choice from the menu. If you are planning to go to the nearby spa, choose a different guesthouse or a hotel.

    relaxing experience

We stayed a few nights in this pension. The staff does everything to make you comfortable. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed. Everything is clean, food in the restaurant was very tasty. The wifi worked well, parking is on site, free of charge. Short drive to Buk Spa. They have a pool and a jacuzzi you can use. Recommended place.

    good service, nice staff

We spent three days in this hotel and it was very nice, the staff is helpful and kind. They gave us a lot of recommendations in the area and in the close towns. The SPA is really close just 5 minutes by car. Would highly recommend them to anyone!
