    Excellent location

    - 10 minute walk to the Bayterek Tower or Cafe Star - Budget hotel - Kitchenette downstairs - Lots of rooms in a small place means low ceilings and you can hear what your neighbour is watching on TV - 45 minute walk to Khan Shatyr - Friendly staff - Clean and tidy

Rough Survivor Instincts and Russian Speakers Only!!

This is a "hotel" unique in nature and second to none! The rooms are small, bear of furniture (mine had only the bed, a TV and a coat hanger). The bathroom had a hole in the wall (presumably for future ventilation) which led to the bedroom area. So while taking a shower the room was filled with humidity. Changes to towels, any basic cleaning and making of beds must be requested. None of the staff speak a word of English. When you insist on something and they cannot understand the gestures that you are trying to make to convey the message, they ask you to write what you want on Google translator. Keys are left on a simple desk and are collected from there, while sometimes the desk is empty and therefore anyone can pickup some other room's keys. Noise levels from plumbing and any activity that takes place in the adjacent rooms are horrendous. Central location, but this is the only thing that made me stay there beyond the fact that the room had been paid for in advance. The staff are friendly, but the whole setup is totally inadequate.

Ok for a few hours sleep; very basic but clean

This hotel is in a good central location in the "new centre" just a few minutes walk from the Bayterek monument. I've used the hotel recently as I just wanted a bed for a few hours between flights and for that it is OK given the generally very high prices in Astana. Arrived late at night and left early at a time when probably everybody else was asleep so didn't hear any noises from other rooms, however the walls did not appear very solid so I do assume that noise from other rooms can be a problem as noted by other reviewers. Very basic but both room and bathroom were clean. It was very hot in the room and window was difficult to open. The guy at reception was friendly but limited English. Taxi organized through the hotel was 3000 KZT (approx 20 US$) one way to/from airport.

    Clean, but...

The hotel is perfectly located, few hundred meters from the brand new center and the Baiterek. Expect a bed, toilet and shower. Do not expect English speaking reception (nor aimable), a breakfast corresponding to your request... Good for a short stay, but not a place to go to 'enjoy' your hotel.

    good location, but ....

stayed one night only, for few hours sleep the hotel is strategically located in "city center", close to the main attraction and diplomatic area. It is a budget hotel, not expensive compared with the other hotel in the area. I think the hotel only has two floor - ground floor and first floor. I was lucky to get the room in the first floor; spacious, equipped with cheap knock-down type furnitures but nice bed, with large window facing to the street. Nice flat screen TV with lot of channel but all russian or kazakhs - no english channel. The room acoustic insulation is poor - could hear noise from adjacent room and others. Ear plug might help to sleep well. Bath room is small, the shower not too bad. Good quality towel, minimum amenity - no soap, only 2 sachet of shampo. No tea/coffee maker, no complimentary drinking water, and no breakfast included. Seem none of staff speak english.
