Doesnt look that its a 5 star hotelWe stayed there for 5 days, which were enough. This hotel doesnt look at all that its a 5 star hotel.Very small rooms, slowest wifi ever, poor breakfast,no spa,gym or shop close. The good things are the very friendly stuff, the beach is amazing, and the food for lunch and dinner. Could recommend this hotel only for couples 60+

Peace and quietThe location is lovely if somewhat remote, so a car is essential. The hotel has few facilities so it should not be a 5 star rating, you couldn't even buy a postcard or some more suntan lotion let alone use a gym/spa. The rooms are very small, as is the shower, and the toiletries of average quality (no conditioner). No tea/coffee in the room.,the menu was limited and the service SLOW! On the plus side the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially those on the beach, and did everything to make the stay pleasant and to sort out any problems. The beach was too crowded but the sea lovely. Good for total relaxation.

Great location, great potential, but far from a luxury 5* hotelThis is one of my favourite spots in the Mediterranean for its outstanding natural beauty and the great local cuisine. A foreigner, I used to live locally many years ago and return every few years to enjoy this magic coast. However every time we're let down by the level of service of the so-called luxury five-star hotels. The issue seems to be endemic to the area and not just to this hotel - my personal theory is that Mother Nature has provided such astounding richness in natural beauty that the local hoteliers just sit back and rely on that alone to fill their coffers. In concert with many of the other reviewers here, I agree that this is at best a four-star hotel but certainly not a five star and certainly not a luxury hotel. The rooms are ok space wise but the bathrooms are cramped, but given that the managers have to work with a 1970s structure, we'll let that go. However the attention to detail is totally lacking, the fixtures and fittings need to be renewed, the shower cabin is tiny and the units are of a nasty cheap 1990s blue MDF. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, no complimentary large bottles of water or other standard provisions of a five star luxury hotel. When we checked into the room it hadn't been dusted and we had to get the chambermaid up to clean properly, we had to ask for bath robes to be brought, and had to ask three times for a second lounger to be brought to the room terrace. The carpet in the staircase is worn and should be lifted and they use industrial strength cleaning products that leaves the lobby smelling permanently like a soap factory. Somewhat more confusing is the staff's approach to dining arrangements. Dinner is meant to be on the hotel terrace, with views over the sea to enjoy the spectacle of the orange moon rising from the sea. Last night we booked to eat at the hotel, only to be told that dinner would be served indoors due to "bad weather", "wind" and "the cold". It was 20 degrees at night and there wasn't a whiff of wind. Instead of eating in the downstairs bunker we opted for the excellent open-air restaurant at the top of the road with panoramic views over the bay, which, needless to say, was full of our fellow hotel guests. Neither do I understand why they serve breakfast in the same bunker rather than on the terrace where you can enjoy the views of the sea and the morning sun - which is after all what people come for. The breakfast is passable but again absolutely not of five-star standard. The cold cuts on offer are not of the highest quality (no crudo di Parma, but cheaper cooked ham and turkey roll) and the 'juices' are those lurid fluorescent coloured liquids that clearly originated as some industrial powder. The same for the scrambled eggs, which were clearly some reconstituted powdered eggs fried up on the griddle - as far from scrambled eggs as imaginable. The fruit is dry and insipid. However if you ask for a freshly squeezed orange juice they'll bring you a glass full of loveliness and the pastries and cheeses are good. The hotel structurally is nice on the outside and the grounds are well kept. However the paved driveway to the car park (transfer in golf cart) is badly maintained with missing paving stones and does not reflect a five star hotel. As the hotel is remotely located (nearest town is 16km) they really should include services withy of a five star luxury hotel such as a shop, a hairdressers, etc. All of these would represent additional revenue streams for the hotel. Also there is no spa or gym. The hotel closes down completely from October to May. This I think is a clear reflection of the mentality of doing as little as possible to make easy money during the high season. Having lived in the area I know that the weather is generally fine to end October and from mid march. With the right services and genuine five star luxury they could easily open year round. However there are important positives that must also be mentioned: - A great wine list that is very keenly priced, featuring an in depth exploration of Apulian wines - very friendly staff, if sometimes a little inexperienced or naive - great food again reasonably priced for lunch and dinner This hotel needs a complete rethink in terms of its furnishings, finishings, services and management style. It could be an absolute gem. Currently, it's merely an overpriced three star hotel in a stunning location.

Beyond beautifulWe ended up at this lovely seaside property on our second day in Puglia. We walked onto the property and immediately felt home in that Italian way. The reception desk overly accommodating. And the grounds beyond beautiful. The room is quite what you would except from a small Italian town quaint and cozy and lovely. The beach area gorgeous. Now for the part of the review if you are a foodie lets just say it was the best food we had in Italy ever the pool restaurant is so delicious I would travel there specifically for their food let me repeat the BEST. Dreaming of Baia die Faraglioni.
