Top relaxationOne of the best Agritourismo we have been. If you follow Federico Montalto's advise its easy to find. Federico offers a fine and gentle service with a sensitive feeling for furniture, room, style, and atmosphere. Good breakfast and diner, and if you like you can enjoy it under the citrus trees. There is a wonderful pool, which is clean, not big, but very nice and protected from the wind. Room Grillo Mare (which is the best, as far as we know) offers you a wide sight to sea and sky. The nearby beach is a typical Italian one (means: charming families). Don's expect "entertainment", historical sights or palm trees, it's somehow far out, quiet, secluded and a place to really relax (no dogs at night) and get closer to the endlessness. But if you like to escape the silence it's easy to manage: it's only twenty kilometers to Marsala and even less to Mazara del Vallo.

Excellent Agri TurismoMy girlfriend and I (29/31) stayed here for 4 nights in late September and loved Baglio Spano. The building itself is a beautiful old farmhouse/winery based round a courtyard with a small orchard on the other side around the pool. The whole place had a lovely rustic feel whilst having everything you need. We ate here on our first night for ease and the food was so good we ended up eating here 3 nights out of 4. Antipasto, local pasta dishes, fresh fish and desserts were simple but fantastic (recipes were requested!). The included breakfast was great; continental with the addition of eggs, Sicilian treats and marmalade made from their own oranges. Frederico was an excellent host, incredibly flexible with food and helpful in recommending things to see and do in the local area including arranging hire of a power boat for a day. We absolutely loved our visit, highly recommend the place for anyone that wants a relaxed, authentic place to stay and will be back.

Excellent AgriturisimoExcellent Agriturisimo near the Mediterranean Sea. We walked along a nearby beach before sunset which can view from the rooftop.. Dinner was excellent on patio by citrus grove. Rooms were large with modern baths. Loved the view from second story rooms. Very pleasant, relaxing stay. Highly recommend.

Nice Building but dreadful hostThe building was nice, the rooms are nice and spacious however, the host is arrogant and not flexible to people's needs. Breakfast is very basic and only cratered for people with a sweet tooth, although it wasn't offered we did managed to get some eggs cooked. Dinner was dreadful and when we complained about no hot water we were advised that there are too many guests using shower at the same time.... Finding the place was soooo difficult.

Just returned from our third visit to this unique place in four years....We have just returned from our third trip to Baglio Spano, and each time we have stayed longer. This is a unique place, which combines the comfort and freedom of staying in a family house with the care and service from a dedicated staff. The building is wonderful, with large rooms, high ceilings, a beautiful shaded courtyard and a lovely garden, complete with swimming pool. Federico's attention to detail is incredible: this is a host who really cares about the standard of what he is providing. He is a fantastic cook, and will provide recommendations for day trips and local services. He has a small team of very careful and hard-working staff who will look to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The baglio is not suited to those looking for a standardised, anodyne and fully-staffed hotel, and is all the better for it. We love going there, and it serves as a wonderful base for going to local beaches, Classical sites at Selinunte and Segesta, and touring the wonderful old Arab harbour towns - Mazara is wonderful. Each time we have stayed in the large Inzolia room on the third floor looking out over the garden towards the sea. This time our baby went into Grecanico across the hall looking over the courtyard, Both rooms are very pleasant, clean and comfortable, with impressively effective mosquito nets on the windows. We can't wait to go back.
