  Located by the lake, but far from everything

  Went to this hotel for a business meeting. First, either neighbouring train stations are not at walking distance, so a taxi has to be arranged. Then going to Murten for a drink requires 15 minutes walking and climbing. Once there though, the view on the lake is fantastic. Going to the rooms require exiting the main building through the bar area, walking outside and going down one floor, before may-be going up again... Awkward. The rooms are basic, with a little sitting area down a few steps. Finding a practical place for a suitcase is therefore difficult. The bed was good though. And in Summer, it is nice to be on the garden. While the staff was kind and helpful, the overall experience was mixed. There must be better options around.

  The rooms are bad, rest is great

  I cant understand why this hotel has such a high rating. The lake is beautiful. People working are very nice. But the rooms are so very old. No elevator. You have to walk a long time to the room. 16-17-18-19 ... 31??? Not logical when upstairs has 28-29-30! Off the stairs again with heavy suitcases. It smells in the room. It is so old, you see it in everything. BUT: The restaurant is very good. Expensive, but good. Excellent service, good wines and food. So, location great. Restaurant great. Rooms terrible. I will only come back for diner, not sleep.

  Wind of change - great food and hospitality

  Since the recent change of ownership this place has changed tremendously. The location is still as stunning as it always was but now things have changed on the inside too. We had dinner at the restaurant with a group and the meal was simply fantastic. Local truffels and a deer chop to die for. Good selection of wines available at reasonable prices too.

  Great place, simply perfect!!

  We know trhat perfection is not simple but has to be achieved, yet everything in this hotel runs so smooth that even perfection seems a simple thing! Position directly on the lake; large rroms deliciously decorated overlooking the lake; fresh and varied breakfast; overall décor carefully studied with matching colours and styles; super gentle and professional staff that make you feel cared for. Though there is obviously an amazing organization and professionality behind, what you perceive as a guest is that everything is as it should be at its best. Thank you all, we will definetively come back!!

  Excellent!!!

  This is really a superb hotel, the location is magnificent and the restaurant is top end. Thank you for the team that welcomed us for this great stay. We will definitely come back to spend more time and taste the entire menu.
