  Nice hotel in a quiet village

  Hotel Bad Griepshop is a hotel and spa in the quiet corner Griepshop in the municipality Hille. The hotel is situated in a heritage half timbered building, adapted to the demands of the 21st century. Ample free parking is available in front of the hotel and opposite the hotel grounds round the corner. The reception isn't staffed permanently but lifting the receiver of an ancient dial telephone on the counter brings a member of the staff to the front desk quickly. The staff member that served us was a bit surly at first, maybe because he thought that we didn't speak sufficient German, but he thawed perceptibly later on. The room was very spacious with comfortable beds, flat screen TV, and comfortable seats for two. Free wi-fi is available; don't forget to obtain login information at the front desk. The bathroom is also spacious and is scrubbed gleaming clean every day. The buffet breakfast included in the rate is stocked with bread, rolls, meat and cheese, preserves, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea and more. In this hotel every party has a reserved table for breakfast. Altogether an impressive list of positive points. However, there are some setbacks. As the hotel is situated in a heritage building, it means that the walls between rooms are thin; this causes that conversations in the next room were clearly audible in our room. Luckily our Marpac sound conditioner was able to take care of that when we retired to bed. Room amenities were limited to only a safe, where a rent of 2.00 a day was required. No fridge and no coffee/tea making facilities. Furthermore, despite the thorough cleaning of the bathroom by the staff the inside of the toilet bowl retained a faint grubby hue, signalling an imminent replacement with fresh porcelain. An occurrence that astonished us was that, despite the evident sign on the entrance door that no dogs are allowed in the hotel, guests arrived with a large dog and were welcomed by the staff. Adding this all together I arrive at a three point rating with something to spare.

  Great price quality.

  The hotel is definitly not the newest. However very clean and a good breakfast. The one thing i rly dislike was the rockhard matres. Dinner offered as a buffet, not bad at all for just 13 euro's. I had a deal of 99 for 3 nights inc breakfast. I would go back.. Surounding area lots of nice things to do!

  A trip to Bad Griepshop

  A very nice experience to be in the hotel excellent service, good breakfast and enjoying welness and swimmingpool. Very quit and nice surrounding near the hotel. Make a nice trip to Hannover for shopping and a lot of nice restaurants.

  Nice hotel

  For a short stay a nice hotel. Friendly staff . For sights you have to drive a lot. Breakfast simple but good. Primarily older guests. We did not use the 'pool'. We also did not use dinner in the restaurant. In general, a nice stay.

  RELAX!

  Thsi hotel is ideal to relax after a long drive or a though business day: rooms are huge and spotless clean. I love the way you can make the room very dark with the shutters. This is not very common North of the Alps. Confy beds and fluffy towels are there to pamper you. Bathroom has exceptional plumbing. Nice surroundings with many restaurants within walking distance. Being a busines traveler I would have apreciated a desk and a chair to catch up with work, but I understand that this is not an hotel who has not businessmen as a target
