  Basic accommodations in a traditional wooden Thai house with fantastic hosts.

  We stayed here with our 11 yr old boy and had a great time getting to know the hosts and looking around Surin. This is a classic Thai house that offers an excellent alternative to botique hotels. Accommodations are simple but clean and enjoyable. This place has a great vibe. We highly recommend this as a way to experience staying in an original style Thai home. We can't wait to go back !!!

  Memorable and enjoyable Thai home stay experience

  We stayed with our 13 year old daughter and were immediately welcomed as if we were part of the hosts' family. Both Ben and Pop were charming hosts and we enjoyed the laid back and rustic surroundings in their home. We enjoyed the Thai breakfasts plus they helped with affordable and friendly guides to take us to the sites we wished to visit. Our experience was such that when it was time for us to leave we were nearly in tears - their compassion and generosity towards us was unexpected and . Would love to return one day!

  Welcoming and traditional home

  We stayed for two nights. The rooms were a good size and were equipped with Mossie nets - which was a relief. We had use of the dining area and fridge, so would bring food from the night market. Pop was just lovely! Very kind and friendly. She left us to do our own thing, which made us feel like the house was just for us! She was always ready to help or advise and told us of a great Chicken and sticky rice restaurant. Surin's a lovely place with really lovely people.

  A great experience

  More than just a place to sleep, staying at Ban Chang Ton is a great local experience. The three rooms in the old wooden house are just mattresses on the floor with mosquito nets and the bathroom is shared, but even though they are very simple, they are very clean and well cared for. Pop is a great host and will let you use a bike to explore town and her kitchen to cook a meal. Although we bought some food from the nearby market and had dinner in the front garden.
