  Ok place to stay

  We stayed one night at Baan Boran. The rooms have AC, the bed was clean, but other than that it was not outstanding. It was hard to communicate with the young girls that help out at the hotel (they don't speak English).

  Big room, interesting shower facilities.

  I only booked one night here and my arrival seemed to take the staff by surprise. However we were able to get into the room one hour early. We were so tired after our overnight flight I failed to notice the lack of a toilet until the staff had gone. As it was only one night we decided we could live with a shared toilet, I'm 99% certain I booked the more expensive option of an ensuite. The shower cubicle was actually in the room! The three young women on reception spoke not a word of English between them but then I don't speak Thai. Big room, comfy bed, air con and breakfast so not a bad deal.

  Good Experience

  I was here a total of 3 nights; 2 upon arrival in BKK and another 1 before my flight out. Overall this is a good deal. It's in a great location for the historical sites and khao san road. I had an ensuite room both times, but yes, beware- others are shared toilet. The water is hot, and the AC is cool, so best of both worlds. :) Rooms are big. Breakfast is tasty. A few things to be aware of- the rooms are on the 2nd floor with no lift, so anyone needing wheelchair access will be out of luck. Like the other reviews state, the three girls here don't speak english. this wasnt a huge problem-- i was in thailand after all so if i cant speak thai why should i complain? i just want to share because occasionally ordering food or checking in etc can be slightly tricky. with clean sheets, hot water, and cod AC, i would stay again.

  Holidays

  When i arrived Bangkok. I dont know where i should stay for my holidays so my best friend suggested me to sty in Baan Boran. This place is large and good environment.I feel very impressive to stay here because the room is very clean and has good atmosphere. It is perfect

  Bad experience

  We had a poor experience at this hotel. We arrived very late at 1am and the hotel was completely dark and gate closed. We rang the buzzer and shouted for someone to let us in, but no one came. We had even put a note on our reservation to let them know we would be arriving very late, but no one was there... We then went to the hotel next door and had them call Baan Boran, but of course they didn't answer the phone either. After ten more minutes of buzzing and banging on the gate, some young girls finally appeared to let us in. They made us stand outside the gate while they confirmed our reservation (it was now almost 2am). I stayed awake to welcome my friend who was checking in an hour later because I knew the hotel staff wouldn't be awake for her. They also made her wait alone outside the locked gate while they located her reservation. They then took nearly 30 minutes to check her in before finally giving her a key around 4am. To top it off, we were in rooms without ensuite toilets (which we had expected). The hotel seems to be run by a few very sleepy young girls who speak no English. It was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. I would not recommend it.
