  Poco hotel para 4 estrellas

  Nos alojamos dos noches, la habitación que nos toco para dos personas muy chica e incómoda y además no tenía aire acondicionado, en esos días hizo 27 y 30 grados y no se podía estar en ella, por suerte a la noche si se puede dormir porque varía muchísimo la temperatura. El desayuno muy pero muy inferior a otros de igual categoría, muy básico y simple. Lo destacable es la atención del personal que estaba muy atento a tus necesidades y la cocina muy buena que constrata con lo del desayuno.

  Stay during the World Cup

  This hotel would be a decent place to stay at its normal price of about £35-£40 per night. However at its World Cup prices of £200 per night it is a rip off. The Russian Government did promise that it would not allow hotels to vastly inflate their prices during the World Cup and it has, to be fair, fined some of them. However this does not help the actual clients and a price hike of around 400% is a disgrace. I sincerely hope that the Azimut Hotel has been fined. My room was just about ok, after a change from my initially allocated room which had no air con. The outside temperature was about 34 degrees C and my first room was hotter than that. To be fair I was moved as soon as I complained and the air con in my new room worked fine. The small bed was ok but the bathroom was tiny. However the shower worked fine so it was acceptable. Id probably give this hotel 3 stars at its normal prices but 2 stars is being generous at the price I paid. Ive given it 2 stars because the location is good with some fabulous views from outside over the rivers towards the World Cup Stadium. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful.

  Stunning view

  Stunning view over Oka and Volga from junior suite in the 5th floor. Perfectly located on the hill of the old city center. Breakfast choice good, coffee very weak and scrambled eggs haven't see a hen for a long time. In general nice place to stay.

  Decent hotel with stunning view

  The view from just outside the hotel was fantastic, overlooking the river and World Cup stadium in Nizhny Novogord. The bar area in the hotel was good and room OK, albeit a little basic and small. Would return.

  Great Views

  The Azimut Hotel is built to maximize the sweeping views out across the Volga River not for convenience in getting to any place within the city that might be on your itinerary. On arrival after a morning train journey my room was not yet available so I tried to get lunch in the lobby cafe to fill in some of the time. After sitting for about 10 minutes with a menu but no service I left and walked the long distance into the main pedestrian street (about 25 minutes walk) and ate there instead. My visit didn't continue too well either when I discovered that my very small standard room on the second floor with a view only of the tree very close to the window did not have a safe and there was no safe available at reception either. After a bit of discussion I agreed to pay a small amount extra per night for a deluxe room. As it turned out that was a bargain. The room I was given was on the 5th floor with a great river view. It was also at least 3 times as big as the standard room and came with huge bed, kettle, fridge, bottled water and a safe. The bathroom was also much larger and very well set out although the shower was over a very deep bath tub which I struggled a bit getting in and out of. The wifi worked well - it was reasonably fast and stable. Breakfast had good choices and was kept well stocked. One of the most positive aspects of the hotel for me were the helpful, English-speaking reception and bar staff. On reflection I would probably choose to stay elsewhere if ever back in Nizhny Novgorod because of the inconvenience of where the hotel was situated in relation to other parts of the city but if you have transport then the Azimut is a reasonable choice.
