  Very good!

  The room we stayed at was very nice, fully equipped and the view breathtaking. The price was reasonable and the owner very kind and sweet! I had a great time there. However, you'll need a car because it's located a little far away from town.

  Azalea apartments - sea view and excellent hosts

  Excellent accomodation: rooms have view on the sea, large terraces, have all kitchen appliances and they were very clean. I was there in the middle of September 2014 with wife and a baby 10 months old, I got very good offer from Azalea hosts and they even gave me apartment instead of studio for the same price (studio is also very large, but we have a good use of an extra bed). The beach is in front of the apartment, you just have to cross the road. It wasn't so crowded in September, so we had enough space for play, and sunbeds and umbrella shade for the baby. They are not so far from the city, especially for couples and young people without kids, we went to the Skiathos town every evening with our baby strollers. And the most important, are friendly and very helpfull hosts! Thank you for all your help, we have an excellent time, hope we will come back again in coming years!

  Local Charm

  A very friendly family run accommodation set just off the road, overlooking the most idyllic views of Megali Ammos. The accommodation has all the requirements needed for your stay and the owner will do anything to help make your stay a success. The accommodation is a little way out of town but easily accessible with a frequent bus service.

  Good for a Family on a Budget

  Having stayed at a couple of places around the Skiathos harbour in the past I decided on this visit that it was time for a change of view so booked this place in Megali Ammos. It is about a 25 minute walk from the Skiathos ferry port or between stops 5 and 6 if you take the bus (get off at stop 5 and follow the rarity of a footpath for about 200 metres. The website showed a nice sea view and indeed there is. Although I was travelling on my own the room had a separate bedroom and so could sleep 4. The balcony was also long enough to accommodate 4 chairs and a table, albeit cheap white plastic ones, so it would be ideal for a family. Nicely tiled throughout with a large shower and a nice view and sincere hosts there are good points to this place but it is on the main road at a point where cars and motor bikes accelerate to full noise so it is far from a peaceful spot to sit on a balcony and enjoy a drink in the evening. No wonder the owner suggested I go down to the bar on the beach when I arrived. The beach is literally over the road and though narrow does make a nice walk along to the various taverns and bars around the areas with sun beds. The road was less noisy as it got darker and as the wine bottle became emptier till I was left with just the sound of the waves and the crickets so that even with the balcony doors open I had a peaceful sleep. By 7am the motorway had returned. The kitchen is a good size - as is the fridge - though the type and number of glasses is lacking. There were no bedside lamps nor a switch for the main lights by the bed. Nor power sockets by the bed. Generally the room and the property as a whole are a little tired and dated though very clean and tidy. If it wasn't for the road noise this would be a great spot to stay. Then again, I suspect that is why it is cheap. That is why I think it would suit a family, perhaps one with two boisterous children, who will be less accustomed to peace and quiet. I just pity those people who had booked more upmarket hotels down the road. It also emphasises why I only pass through Skiathos to use the airport on route to Skopelos and/or Alonissos where the same money buys you a much more peaceful holiday.
