  Nice Hotel and descent location

  Nice and clean hotel. Front desk personnel had a pretty good command of English and were very pleasant. Iron and Ironing board available upon request. Breakfast was a buffet style mix of traditional Korean and western options. If not included in room rate it was about 16.00 USD. There is a Dunkin Donuts out the front door, turn right and walk about 100 yards. Also just past the DD is a quickie mart for water, soda etc. You can also get the traditional meat on a stick and fried chicken from the hot box at the front counter. Its about a 4 dollar cab ride to the Lotte Mart shopping area where there is a large choice of restaurants and bars. Recommend Mr. Geeks craft brewery. Good beer and excellent pizza. The owner speaks good English and is a very nice gentleman. He is also very helpful with recommendations of area eats and bars. Before you leave the hotel get a card with destinations in Korean as the cab drivers spoke no English that we ran into. Also recommend a translator app for you're smartphone.

  One of the best in Gunsan

  If you're looking for accomodation in Gunsan then this is probably one of the best there is. The hotel is not cheap, however but it is conveniently located next to the bus terminal and is easy to find. The name has now changed to Avon Hotel (pronounced "aiy-beon" in Korean). There are convenience stores close by and some breakfast and coffee shops, so you'll never get hungry or be without amenities. There is a small gym on the ground floor. The rooms are fairly big by Korean standards, and the room I booked on level 3 had a a large (~10-15sqm) patio where you can sit and talk amongst friends or families. Highly recommended. Cons: - Price; was the same if not more expensive than a room in Seoul.

  Great when visiting Kunsan AFB

  Hotel is located next to the Highway Bus Terminal so it was very convenient to get in late from a flight from the states, catch the Highway Bus (about $25 from Incheon Airport), then just walk about 20 yards to the hotel. Cab fare from the hotel to Kunsan AFB was approximately $15. The breakfast was excellent with both Korean and Western choices. On the downside, there was not much to do around the hotel, and contrary to the other reviews I had some difficulty communicating in English with the staff. There is absolutely no shopping in the vicinity (the mall is about a mile away) and there was not many choices for Western dining other than a poorly stocked Dunkin Donuts in the Bus Terminal. Behind the hotel was a "different world", but the area is very safe. I haven't stayed at any other hotels in the area but thought it was a great stay, considering I was basically there to visit the base.

  Amazing hotel

  Lovely winter trip to Gunsan and this hotel was amazing. Great food selection from breakfast buffet to dinner. Great vibe and friendly hotel staffs. Highly recommend for your visit to gunsan. I absolutely loved the room as well
