  Good beds, clean, easy to deal with. Pricey but thats Sydney

  Dropping off my daughter to unsw so I just wanted to have somewhere for two nights that was close by to the University of New South Wales This place had great bedding it was clean it had air conditioning, a fridge maybe a little small but it did have a table and chairs and good telly so given its opposite the hospital I can understand why they would have a steady clientele solid property Pricey but everything in Sydney is expensive I would come back

  Short stay in Randwick

  Fantastic place for a short stay in Randwick, central to hospital, UNSW transport and nearby local shops and restaurants at The Spot on Perouse Rd or main strip along Belmore Rd. Recently refurbished it was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Just what I needed for a reasonable price

  Excellent Rabdwick base

  Excellent Randwick base while undergoing significant medical procedures at Prince of Wales (POW) Hospital. Avoca Lodge is a clean, fresh and reciently updated establishment directly across from POW Hospital, only several minutes walk. The rooms vary in size, we had a King 3 with additional single bed and a large bathroom, on the ground floor which meant a friend could stay while I was in hospital. Booking was easy and staff very friendly. Only minutes walk also from large selection of excellent restaurants, the Royal Hotel with great counter meals, and supermarkets and shops. Easy access by bus from and to almost anywhere and next month by tram from CBD. Avoca Lodge offered significant discount as we were undertaking medical treatment at POW Hospital. Very easy to book direct or on line.

  Comfortable, value-for-money accommodation in a covenient location

  Mattress and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Excellent location - only a few minutes to walk to Prince of Wales Hospital and Coogee Beach only a short drive away. A surprise bonus: at the rear of Avoca Lodge we found an unrestricted parking spot for our car. A great help for those like us who live in a regional area and find that using our own vehicle is a far more affordable and convenient option. This saved us from having to pay expensive parking-station fees and gave us the incentive to use public transport to get to the city. When the new Light Rail service between Randwick and Circular Quay commences (December 2019?) we predict Avoca Lodge will become even more popular, as traffic congestion in Randwick, and everywhere else in Sydney, is simply awful. Negative aspect: During the night we prefer to rely on fresh air as we find that air conditioning has a drying effect. Unfortunately, however, the windows in our bedroom and bathroom weren't fitted with insect screens and our sleep was interrupted by some noisy and persistent mosquitoes buzzing around our head, and my wife ended up with a couple of nasty bites. Early 4pm check-in closing time is inconvenient for travellers who are unable to arrive before then.

  Exceeded Expectations

  Great location, comfy beds, clean room, nice high ceilings with modern features. We werent expecting it to be so nice. Great price. The only downfall was there is no free parking with the accommodation. We will definitely stay again when coming to Sydney. Close to cafes and opposite the hospital.
