  El mejor hotel del mundo

  Magnífico hotelito estilo mejicano en Ávila Beach. Excelente localización, junto a la playa, y el mejor servicio que te puedas imaginar. Todo el personal está continuamente cuidando de ti, la habitación es preciosa y acogedora y los extras gratuitos del hotel son múltiples. Especial mención a JC por su amabilidad y por ser un gran profesional, al igual que su Manager. Sin duda el hotel que nadie que pase por esta zona de California debe perderse. Enhorabuena Avila La Fonda Hotel!!!

  Perfect Central Coast Getaway

  If youre looking for the perfect getaway on the Central Coast, venture to the Avila La Fonda Hotel. Its just a block from the beach and the famous Custom House and it specializes in spoiling their guests. And they are taking extra precautions and following protocols to protect us all. Starting with the scrumptious croissants for breakfast, the wine and charcuterie tray in the afternoon and Linns warm pies in the evening, you could stay in your delightful room without leaving it...though youll want to. With its central location, as well as closeness to the Avila Pier, lots of wine tasting opportunities, Pismo Beach and SLO just a short drive away, there is so much to do. But if you prefer...do nothing and relax. We recommend a spa room with a balcony (facing either 1st Street or the public parking lot, which is usually empty and quiet). GM Angela and her team are pleasant, welcoming and interested in making your visit all you hope it will be. Special thanks to Steph and Samantha, whose pre-arrival and in-house hospitality made us feel really special.

  Avila La Fonda Is Our Favorite IN COUNTY Getaway

  We live in SLO county and yet going to Avila La Fonda occasionally is such a nice break This was for our 24th wedding anniversary and they acknowledged it with special chocolates and champagne. The staff always treats us well (thanks specifically to Madison who checked us in and Stephanie who checked us out (not that we wanted to leave!). The Spanish/European ambiance of this place is astounding, it is literally like going overseas within the walls. Although covid-19 has restricted in person dining gatherings, we contune to get the breakfast platter of scones, coffee and fruit in our rooms and fresh hot pie for dinner dessert. We had a balcony with a small view of the ocean and a hottub. The beach is only a couple blocks away so you can walk to it easily--very little traffic in this town. We bought a gift certifcate for our son and his wife to use in the future. We will definitely be back.

  Not as great as it used to be

  Let me start out by saying that we love the Avila La Fonda Hotel. We have been going there for many years. BUT, we recently stayed there and noticed a few things that were not up to par with our usual experience. 1. The sheets are 100% Polyester. The worst and cheapest sheets you can buy. For a hotel advertised as Luxury, the linens should be above average quality. 2. We used to receive complimentary wine tastings at Alapay Cellars. This was not given to us or mentioned. 3. With Covid restrictions you need to pick up a breakfast basket each morning with the wonderful croissants. The first morning we were there I went to pick up our basket and the person on duty said, "Didn't you already get yours?' Which I hadn't but made me feel AWKWARD. 4. We love to drink coffee. When I asked for some extra pods for the Keurig, the person at the desk begrudgingly gave me 2. As though it was coming out of her salary. The pantry only had tea available the whole time we were there. 5. The paint in the rooms is peeling at looks old. 6. The TV's are outdated. For the price paid to stay in a Luxury Hotel this is not what is expected. The staff in previous years went out of their way to help and were very cheerful and inviting. That is not the case currently. I hope there are some updates made and some common courtesy lesson given to the staff.

  Lovely Boutique Hotel With Special Touches Close to Beach

  Very cute, clean boutique hotel 1 block from Avila Beach. Upon check in we received 2 free wine tasting tickets for the shop across the street while we waited for our room to be ready. We stayed in a 1st floor Great Room Deluxe #109 which had a full kitchen and ample outdoor space with 2 BBQ's, patio furniture, a fridge and outdoor gas fireplace. The room was clean and loved the spanish colonial decor. Every night we received a charcuterie plate along with 2 1/2 bottles of wine. In the a.m. they provide bfst baskets with OJ, fresh baked croissants and tangerines. At 8pm you can pick up a fresh baked pie, what a nice touch! Bed was a little sunken in but comfortable. The heat came from a gas fireplace in the room which provided a nice ambiance. Free parking in the lower level garage. Upon check out we received a nice box of chocolate truffles. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!
