  Last minute getaway

  Booked a last minute getaway here as had to cancel our trip to Tenerife due to Covid. We have a mixed review of this place. Positives: beautiful setting, restaurant is lovely with beautiful views, staff in the restaurant and beach area superb and very welcoming. Presidential villa was perfect, lovely Bali beds in the pool. Food is amazing and the breakfast was great. Very clean. Negatives: checking in not very personable had to sit in a row of chairs behind reception hut in the full sun, get credit card out straight away & welcome drink was half a glass, although tasted nice. Our biggest disappointment was misrepresentation on their website saying only 16 villas, but there is actually now 36! We had one of the furthest away rooms which were dark & had no storage apart from 4 hangers each. No chest of drawers so we had to leave our clothes in our cases. Never had to do that anywhere before. The room pool was small, overlooked above and to the sides. We had people smoking all the time around us which was annoying. We ended up upgrading to presidential villa for the last 3 nights at considerable extra cost which was so much nicer. Air con didnt work in my sons room so they slept on sofa the first night downstairs but it was sorted quickly the next day. When reported we was surprised at the response of it worked yesterday! They gave us a complimentary plate of fruit. Restaurant is lovely, compliments to the chef the food is amazing but the menu needs to change there is such little choice. Even if they had a couple of different specials each day would help. Were not fish lovers so only had a couple of choices. We ended up hiring a car and eating out a couple of nights which was a shame. It also lacks any outdoor areas to sit, only a very small bar with bar stools not very comfortable to relax in. We usually visit Sani resort but thought wed have a change but I so wished we had gone there instead there just isnt any comparison, they treat you like royalty and happy to upgrade you where they can and you dont feel they just want your money like Avaton Im afraid. Lastly you have a Covid policy but dont follow it. It says all staff wear masks but a lot of them drop them down and you say contactless menus, we were handed large size menus each day which were passed from person to person and not sanitised. At busy times there also wasnt enough tables so they were trying to cram them in with no social distancing between people. We feel they have tried to increase the number of villas but are unable to increase beach or restaurant size which is a shame.

  A place Pretending for exclusivity, but not having it. Too expensive

  We stayed in August 2020 and booked the junior suite with private pool. Positive: Fantastic food and stylish restaurant. Sea, beach and view extraordinary. Room and swimming pool stylish and clean. Negative: We are accomodated in a new bulid block which was very far from the beach and on a hill. The way to the beach and back was horror. You walk through open parking, almost no green area, extremelly sunny, no way to get a shadow. You have to cross a busy street. (See picture) The so called suite is really small: 35m2. This was correct notes on the website, but you still expect a bit more space for have booked a suite. No private space at all in the private swimming pool. The rooms are very close to each other and you hear the neighbours all the time: hair drier, children cry etc. One day we could not get an umbrella on the beach as it was everything booked. So a nice guest (with a family of four) give us 2 of his beds. The so called reception is on fully sun place. It is a kind of a small room, where there is almost no place for more than 2 people. So when you come by car and expect to get rest while waiting for the room, you are just set on the sun and just hope, that you manage to receive your key fast enough. To sum up. Nice place, built wth a good idea. Pretending for exclusivity, but not having it. And way toooo expensive for the complete package. In the room there was a light, lightening and disturbing all the night (see picture) We would still consider giving a second try to this place. But only if we are sure that we would reside in block 1 or 2. And with a massiv deduction on the price.

  Luxury accommodation in a magnificent setting!

  Avaton has everything you could wish for! Attentive staff, excellent food, luxurious rooms and a beautiful beach! We were extremely pleased during our stay and cant wait to be back! Thank you to everyone at Avaton for making our time so memorable!

  Just Perfect!!!

  Amazing place with exqusite scenery!We loved our stay and everything in this exclusive resort from our villa to the staff everything was simply wonderful.Except from the great amenities and the fantastic beach,this resort was the safest place to be during the covid situation due to their responsibility about every single thing!Like cleaning throughly all the spaces and providing us with extra cleaning bottles free of charge and all the personel being extremely thoughtfull and super protective wearing their masks 24/7.Thank you for providing us the hollidays we wanted and we will be back for sure!!!

  Fantastic service, amazing stay with toddler

  What an amazing stay! We stayed for 9 nights in a junior suite with private pool with a one year old and we were blown away by the service. Highlights: - The food! We had half board and ate like kings every day. The food is exquisite and beautifully plated, compliments to the chef. Tuna carpaccio and marinated sea bass were our favourite starters - so, so fresh! The restaurant is outdoors overlooking a beautiful cove, you can never get bored of the view. - The service. Understated, friendly, personal and attentive. The staff at the restaurant were absolutely wonderful - they were so accommodating and helped entertain our little one during our three course dinners in the evenings. Everyone knew our toddlers name and the staff at the restaurant really went above and beyond. Little things like when the little one dropped a spoon, a new one would magically appear within seconds, the childs main was brought quickly with the adults starters so that the little one didnt have to wait. Room service was absolutely on point, we were very impressed by the impeccable timing between the delivery of the mains and the dessert. - The beach. Its perfect. Water like glass on most afternoons, really gentle gradient, crystal clear water with nothing around. The beach is really empty, mainly hotel guests. Hotel has a massive stash of beach toys and inflatables which our child really enjoyed. Beach facilities are great, the sun beds are comfortable, plenty for all the guests, the bathroom and shower facilities were impeccably clean with hot water, cloth napkins and Molton Brown toiletries. - Housekeeping were really thorough in cleaning the rooms, floors in the room were freshly mopped with disinfectant every time. Its a small and intimate boutique hotel in a beautiful location far from the madding crowd, which is exactly what we were looking for. Needless to say its fantastic for couples, but I cannot recommend it enough for young families, its a really great set up, especially with the room service. We felt really Covid secure whilst there - its not a big resort so even at full capacity it doesnt feel crowded (and very very few people not from the resort). All the communal areas are outdoors and the staff were always masked. Thank you again to the Avaton team for a wonderful stay, well try to come back!
