  New and modern hotel in KK

  Spent four nights here back in January when I visited my gf in Waengyai. This property is very new and modern. Clean and comfortable room. Lots of places to dine and drink inside. Location isn't the best. You will need a taxi or motor bike in order to go downtown. The pool area was beautiful. But the pool was unbearably cold. During my four nights there I saw very few people in the water. Every person I saw who jumped in would jump back out within a minute or so. Even as a healthy and physically fit 36 year old man I could barely manage more then two minutes in their ice cold pool.

  Not worth visiting for foreigners

  I stay in Phuket and decided to visit khon kaen for a holiday. The only two good branded hotel I could find were Pullman and Avani, I have stayed with Accor many times so I thought to give a try to Avani this time But that proved to be one of my worst decision Reservation - I called up hotel room reservation to book a room however I was told that its better I book online since I would get a better deal ........ wow thats a surprise than why they have reservation department in hotel anyhow I booked it online and the deal mentioned complimentary pickup and drop from airport so I filled in my flight details. I wanted to plan a few things for my trip and confirm my airport pick up so I again called hotel to connect to reservation........ twice my call was hung up and third time I was told that reservation is busy please call after sometime wherein I left my number and requested a callback which as expected never happened, after waiting for sometime I called again and was told by employees Khun Ice that its 6pm now and the reservation is already closed so please call tomorrow and I told her my story of struggle to reach reservation so she ensured me that tomorrow first thing I would get call from reservation and again to my no surprise I never got a call so thinking that I have already filled my flight details so there would be someone to pick me up I landed at khon again around 2pm and waited for my airport pickup but nobody was there after 25min I started looking for my pickup but couldnt find so called up hotel wherein they had no idea finally they send a car and I reached hotel after 1hr and 20 min to hotel. No manager at checkin to even apologize for inconvenience. Food - reached hotel and went to eat at restaurant with my thai friends, my chicken steak was dry but still edible but as per my thai friend the thai food was disaster. Went for breakfast next morning but if you are not thai than there is nothing to eat for you except fruits, bakery and cereals, rest all is thai food on buffet , request for a simple thing like eggs Benedict but they couldnt do it anyhow I dont blame chef for that as could see 99% thai guest around me and she was the only chef on egg counter with more than 100 guest in restaurant. Went to pool and tried to order drinks but waiting for 30 min unfortunately no staff on pool And no possible phone line So I called hotel from my phone and had to request for staff to order, delivered drinks once and nobody came back to ask if I want another drink after I finished so I let it go Departure I called to book my transfer to airport as per my inclusion since my flight is around 12:30 but I was told that there is a shuttle at around 9am and I can take it ....... seriously reach 9:30am for 12:30 departure so I requested to book a private taxi which I can pay by myself rather than a hotel transfer at 9;30am And to my no surprise for sure I am 100% sure that the billing tomorrow morning would be wrong so better I reach 20min early for checkout Good about hotel - the rooms are specious and the bathrooms are really good with no water clogging and shower problem - the staff around the hotel are very good by heart and would treat you with great respect but they need a lot of training from professionals to do their job - the housekeeping service is really good specially the guy who made my room

  Classy Hotel

  Lovely, modern and clean rooms, great breakfast. We had a dim sum dinner at the in-house Chinese restaurant and were very impressed. The pub on the ground floor was great for drinks, inside and also in the garden. Relly nice stay.

  Home away from home

  A pleasurable one night trip that will bring us back here. We've always chosen to stay at this hotel everytime where are in Khon Kaen, regardless of the fact that our parents have a free room in there house on offer for us. We love the cleaniness, the amentities and the beautiful selection of breakfast. Will return next time we are in Khon Kaen.

  Decent accommodations for the area

  There werent many options for Khon Kaen if you want to stay in a modern hotel. Luckily the Avani is nice and close to the places where we wanted to visit. The rooms are decent sized and clean. The pool was large but a little dirty at the bottom. We ate at their dim sum restaurant and it was ok - some good and some bad. But there wasnt much option for breakfast. Overall this place is fine for a quick night stay.
