  Nothing is too much trouble

  The Hotel Austria is perfectly situated near to the cable cars which is perfect for skiing and for summer walking, and is just minutes walk from the town centre which has convenience stores, clothing and ski wear shops, bakery, cafes, bars etc. (I must add at this point that the town is a quiet town, so if youre looking for lively, fun filled nights out, this isnt for you!). The hotel is linked via underground walkways to the hotel Bellevue and the annex building and the hotels private underground car park. The bedrooms at the Austria are large and very comfortable. There are robes and slippers provided, which you will need if you decide to use the fantastic Spa, which is included in the price. The Spa is one of the best Ive been to with a very warm outdoor pool, (not to be missed) an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and a room with water beds if you need to just relax. Down stairs in the spa there are two further saunas, two steam rooms a jucauzzi and plenty of loungers to relax on. You need to be aware that down stairs is a costume free area, so dont use this if youre shy! The breakfast is an excellent buffet, but you can order cooked breakfasts too. The dinners are a five course meal, but the portions are small, however the first course is an extensive buffet which I found quite filling, so small portions after that are fine. The staff are VERY helpful and polite as are the family that run the hotels. If you need anything you just need to ask. Over all I would highly recommend this hotel for its service, location, facilities, friendliness and its spotless cleanliness. My one and only gripe.... 3 euros for a litre of tap water when a litre bottle from the shop is 60cents!

  Could be the best hotel and crew in Obergurgl!..?

  Could Be the best hotel we have stayed at during our trips with langley and the alps. Perfect service at the hotel, magnificant food every morning and night, the wellnes area is the best after a day in the slops and all crew at the hotel was kind, profecional and always smiling. We Will be back!!

  Wow - why look elsewhere

  I think I have written around 3 reviews ever as there is always an expectation as to certain levels of service and quality but when you experience something outside of that , you dont mind taking a few minutes to write a review. This hotel , staff, food, location is just great. The family and the staff just cant do enough for you. Great choice of breakfast and you can order hot choices at no extra cost. They even do cakes etc around 3.30 to 5pm . Evening meal you have a choice of meat, fish or vegetation but you have salad bar and starters before that followed by deserts. Even if you dont like the sound of something , try it. You maybe surprised as we were. The food was stunning . Best we have had ever on a skiing on holiday by miles. The chefs and patisserie chef do a great job ( they have a special desert night - never seen so many home made deserts in my life). We had a couple of white out days and having the spa facilities and the pool was a welcome treat to pass a few hours away. The masseuse said she does not speak much English but let her hands do the taking. V true on both counts. She is wonderful. There is no iron in room as asked for an iron at reception . She said no problem, just bring down what you want and they would do it (no charge ) and was back in our room 20 mins later. We also received an upgraded room upon arrival which was a really nice touch. You can ski to and from hotel with a short walk across the hotel access road. Although it was our first time at hotel Austria we all agreed it wont be our last.

  Fantastic ski holiday

  The hotel Austria has been the perfect base for a week long ski trip.The local pistes in Obergurgl,Hochgurgl and Sölden have been terrific with lots of run options and fabulous views. The hotel rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food has been of a very high standard for both breakfast and dinner and all the staff have been very attentive and welcoming. I would unreservedly recommend the Austria to any travellers looking for a traditional top quality Austrian holiday hotel.

  Superb hotel

  A superb hotel with great rooms. Paid the extra to stay in main building and not annexe. Well worth the money. Great spa facilities, 2 minute walk to slopes. Excellent food, if not too much! Lovely resort, very quiet in the evening though if you like to relax.
