Beautiful apartment, great locationWe had a huge apartment with a bedroom, a living room (including a kitchenette, table, sofa) with a nice interieur. The room had a small semi-private terrace (shared with one other room), windows in 3 directions and a computer with free internet access. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly. Sauna (and pool) was included. The hotel is located at the border between Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf directly at the beach. Breakfast was good, although we got confused because there were two restaurants serving breakfast - depending on the room number you had to find the right one. Bicycles could be stored in the garage overnight, but for a fee (2 euros per bike and night).

Definitely not a 4-star hotelThis is more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, let alone a 4-star one. The room was located in a villa, on the first floor, accessible through a wooden staircase under which a vacuum cleaner and brooms were stored permanently. The room had a bed and a closet. The bathroom had a small washbasin with no shelves except a tiny one for the toothbrush glass where nothing else could be placed. Fortunately there was a nice veranda with 2 armchairs and a table where we could leave our belongings. The room was exactly as you would expect a room to be in a family-run bed and breakfast, but the price we paid was 180 euros per night which is quite far from a B&B rate. The swimming pool was a tiny room with a tiny pool of water. The reception was tatty, with incomprehensible plastic butterflies hanging on the counter from the ceiling and a vase with fake flowers. What was good about the place was: the perfect location along the promenade, the garage and the excellent breakfast. Had we paid 100 euros instead of 180 our rating would have been much higher. The price is not in line with what you get.

Beachfront hotel with turn of the century charm. Our one night stay at Aurelia Hotel was exactly what we needed for a quick summer getaway. The hotel is perfectly located right on the boardwalk (bike & pedestrian path right in front of the hotel terrace and only a few steps away from the beautiful sand dune path towards the large, expansive, clean beach!) and the front desk service is very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was clean and nicely set-up, with a small balcony and had everything you needed. It was a 'tight' room but completely sufficient for two people. Although we didn't use the "wellness/spa facilities", I thought the opening hours of the sauna running until 22:00 was convenient and I will be sure to keep that in mind for a winter stay. The restaurant in the hotel (with a large terrace outside) had a excellent menu selection of regional northern German food that was very on point. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection and the added a la carte eggs was a nice touche. Bike rental through the hotel or through a mobile service was also convenient and a must do!
