  Want a different experience. This is it.

  Just one night at this oddity and quite unexpected. Don't expect turned down beds and be aware of mosquitoes but this is simply too good to miss. The evening meal and breakfast are just oozing South Africa at its very best.

  A lovely oasis

  This was such an amazing oasis that we regretted that we only had time to spend one night. The owners that gave us a great history lesson about the house and the town before checking us in to one of the loveliest rooms Ive ever seen was ever so cordial! Great service and everything you could ever hope for in a Country House or any where else.

  Truely Amazing

  There is nothing I can say that has not been said before , place is amazing as are the owners and staff. And the owners ethics. One thing you should do is eat here in the evening it is very ,very good , but email or call to tell them you want the evening meal as they don't cook every night but will if they have enough requests for it on that day.

  Don't Miss the Tasting Menu Dinner

  We arrived late in the day, but were just in time to join dinner that evening. Dinner is an event with delicious small plates, conversation and wine. Plan to spend time and enjoy it. The patio setting was lovely as dusk fell and the patio was lit with candles and small lights. The seven course meal was varied and filling. Each dish was our favorite, until the next one came- a fantastic meal. A portion of the cost for dinner goes to a local charity to feed children in the area. We only stayed one night, but the next morning Terrence had washed our car. Our host and the staff were wonderful. Worth a stop in Swellendam.

  Perfect place for a getaway

  We stayed here on our honeymoon and we cant recommend this guesthouse enough! The Arum cottage was stylish, comfortable and warm (even in the middle of winter). The beautiful garden on the property gives the place a secluded feel, so you dont even notice that its near a main road. We booked in on the breakfast, bed and dinner meal and it was definitely great value for money. The on site restaurant is amazing! Hands down the best food we had on our trip. Such delicious flavors and all the food is freshly made by the talented kitchen staff. The bread they serve at breakfast is a big highlight.
