  Fantastic Resort Managed by the Best People

  "Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends. Walt Disney I cannot say enough good things about how the management, Jim Keller in particular, of the Marriott Grand National Resort in Opelika, Alabama went above and beyond to make the very best of our stay despite the COVID-related reductions of services and amenities. The staff were consummate professionals and are doing their best with what they have to work with. Thank you for truly saving our "birthday week" despite a rough start. We hope to return in the spring of 2021 and enjoy the full range of amenities, service, and experiences they normally have available.

  Great family getaway location

  We visited Grand National for fall break with our kids & extended family. The weather was perfect for enjoying the outdoor & indoor pool, the fire pits, the tennis courts & the bicycles. The hotel was not crowded & felt very Covid safe. My kids have added it to our favorite hotels list. It feels secluded, but is 15 minutes from the University & all the restaurants & amenities that a college town provides. Well be back.

  Beautiful and peaceful atmosphere

  Work conference brought us to the resort and it was a nice experience. The facility is spacious and clean. The food provided for the training was delicious and all staff that I encountered were kind and eager to help.

  Finally, A Hotel That Gets It ALL Right!

  Coronavirus has changed the world and truly made true, caring, hoteliers like this hotel shine so bright! We are constantly looking to get out of the house and explore. This hotel checks all the boxes and is only 45 minutes from our house! When you arrive at the resort (1 of 15 in the US), you are greeted with free parking, a sprawling lobby and helpful staff. After you check in you will find extra large hotel rooms with both showers and tubs + each room has a private balcony. If you're traveling with family, checkout the executive kitchen suites! They have 3 on-site restaurants and bars, a full 3 story spa, tennis, golf and 3 pools - resort with a slide and cabanas, adult with poolside bar and heated indoor pool. On summer weekends they have smores, bingo and weekend nights have live music! Most importantly they're concerned with you comfort and not about how low they can get their labor numbers. During COVID we have traveled menu places and 99% of them offer nothing but a bed to sleep in. This hotel continues to offer a full breakfast with made to order omlets, pancakes, waffles and french toast, all restaurants open, all pools open and didn't skimp on Marriott Bonvoy benefits. If you're remotely close to this hotel, it's worth stopping in!

  There for Golf but Has so much more

  Beautiful resort. We went for the RTJ Golf trail but realized it offers so much more. Theres an incredible pool that would be awesome for kids. The indoor pool is heated and has a hot tub but it was closed for covid. The outdoor area has 2 pools, one with a zero entry area and the other with tables built into it for adults. The rooms were very large a spacious and the bathroom was huge (we had a suite with a balcony-room 444). Water pressure was okay, not very strong, but got very hot. We had a bathtub too. Balcony overlooked the pool. The outdoor food area was casual and popular. Place an order at the counter and they bring it to your table based on your number, like Panera Bread. The staff was incredible! They were very kind and many remembered our names after 1 interaction. They were obviously well trained and made us feel special. The golf courses were on the property but we had to drive our car there.
